When will Bungie Nerf the Thorn ?
What's the point of buffing scout and pulse rifles and nerfing auto rifles when the only gun that's worth using when it comes to PvP is a thorn. Mark of the devourer is the most overpowered perk in the game and using the Thorn takes no skill at all. All you need to get a kill with a Thorn is 3 body shots or two head shots no matter the distance. How about making keeping it a two headshot kill and instead of 3 body shots make it 4. The Hawkmoon which has outstanding impact and also gives 3 random bullets extra damage still doesn't have anything on a Thorn. In a regular crucible mode I don't mind being hit by a Thorn but this gun is being used by 90% of the players who compete in Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris which pay out big rewards. At this point i am forced to use a Thorn for my own defense. I just got a Monte Carlo last week and there's yes point in using it in any game mode you have to offer.

They shouldn't nerf the thorn because it's not overpowered- said everyone who uses the thorn as their main (and usually only) primary because they rely on it as a crutch to even compete in crucible. Lol. Honestly accept that Thorn is a broken piece of poo that people who don't have a forte with any fps-es use to actually amount to something in PvP. That, or people use it for an easy win. You know a gun is broken when it can turn people who are below average to above average players. I average a 2 KD in crucible mind you and I do not touch this weapon. Why? Because it is the equivalent of killing the other teams' families and shitting on their corpses. In experienced players' hands it is literally the most ungodly unfair piece of sh*t I can use. I MEAN THE RANGE AND THE FIRE RATE AND THE POISON AND THE 3 SHOT-2 SHOT KILL IS SO DUMB. "But thorn can be easily countered and blah blah blah learn to counter a gun." Well you know what. Horse sh*t. Yes, horse sh*t. You want to know why? Because you're not just countering the gun, you're countering the player using the gun. Yes, people hop on the thorn band wagon every day so there are some dumb ****s who don't know how to hit the broad side of a barn with it but if you're up against someone who knows even a tad bit of what they're doing it just gets annoying. It's not even a 'thorn' in your side, it's a tiger biting a chunk out of you -.- AND THE WORST PART!? It scales with experience. The more you're blessed with PvP skills etc the more exponentially you can do with this weapon. It's the stupidest gun I've seen since the Famas in MW2.

Now the US is forced to respond and bombs a village of rebels killing fifteen hundred people you’ve never met, never had a problem with. Now the politicians are saying, "Oh, send in the Marines to secure the area" because they don't give a crap. It won't be their kid over there, getting shot. Just like it wasn't them when their number got called, because they were pulling a tour in the National Guard. It'll be some kid from the Destiny community taking shrapnel in the ass. And he comes back to find that the plant he used to work at got exported to the country he just got back from. And the guy who put the shrapnel in his ass got his old job, because he'll work for fifteen cents a day and no bathroom breaks. Meanwhile, he realizes the only reason he was over there in the first place was so we could install a government that would sell us oil at a good price. And, of course, the oil companies used the skirmish over there to scare up domestic oil prices. A cute little ancillary benefit for them, but it ain't helping my buddy at three-o-five a gallon. And they're taking their sweet time bringing the oil back, of course, and maybe even took the liberty of hiring an alcoholic skipper who likes to drink martinis and play slalom with the icebergs, and it ain't too long 'til he hits one, spills the oil and kills all the sea life in the North Atlantic. 1 ReplyThorn Banner. Trials of Thorn. I think the same thing its op and all people use now is the last word or thorn. I have both and use the thorn all the time. Simply because no gun stands a chance against it. I have so many other guns i want to use but cant cuz the thorn will kill you too easily and make you flinch like a bitch so you cant land shots. If i get in a game where people arent using it i have a great time cuz then i dont have to. That rarely happens now tho cuz everyone has it and people generally dont want to use one gun if they have another thats better. Its a shame :/

Most people only use thorn for the DOT perk. Saying most people use it doesn't mean it's too good, it just means people like the DOT, which is very useful in trials.
