Loot Table Conspiracy (or... Aliensdidit!)

So I'm not the first to posit this idea, and I won't be the last, but I'm genuinely curious to know what you good people believe about the theory of 'Loot Tables' in Destiny. Many people can complain about not getting (Gjally/FBringer/BHammer/XYZexotic) from (NF/CE/VOG/N/H/PoE/IB, etc), but at the same time are quick to mention how they've gotten -something else-. Myself as an example, I've gotten two Black Hammers, two Hawkmoons, two Icebreakers, a Fatebringer, and several other Lengendary/Exotics which are rare/coveted. However, I haven't received a single Gjally/ No Land Beyond/ 4th H-man/ D-Breath. So I genuinely do wonder if there are set 'tables' for each player to determine their 'drops'. How many people with 2+ Gjallys do you know who would trade their reproductive potential for a single Icebreaker or Fatebringer?

  • I think this. There's one guy I play with and we get completely opposite exotic drops. E.g. He's had Thunderlord, Mida, Vex and I've got Gally, icebreaker. I'm also convinced it's weighted so the first times you do E.g. A raid you're more likely to get an exotic. This then decreases, so if you're loot table has a low chance of Gally, it then drops to practically nothing. And Xur isn't random. Sells Last Word before Trials. Sold Red Death just before the pulse buff. Truth before Trials. No Land Beyond when loads of YouTube videos of it started coming out. It might have been random once, but in the run up to HoW it was as if they were giving all the good stuff that was previously rare so people could complete their collection.

Maybe the way our characters pixels are orginised, just like human DNA and how our brains are neurological wired up and how this affects each individuals life, thought process, emotions and physical appearance. The binary code so to say, of our online characters directly influences and results in what loot we get. But there is more to this as social conditioning and physical surroundings also affect us and our characters. Jokes bruss, RNG homies. Just like the RNG that was rolled with your soul to decide whether you were born in China or Australia, whether you are black or white, or are an albino hermaphrodite with 12 toes.

      • I think its like each character has a "code" and the engrams/rewards change based on that "code". certain codes determine different rewards for that time

      • Meh. Took me until just before the release of HoW, but I got every exotic weapon that could drop to do so.
