[BUNGIE] Reporting Cheaters
Guardians,
When you encounter an opponent in the Crucible who is cheating, we want to know all about it. There are teams at Bungie devoted to investigating and taking action against cheaters. The safest and fastest way to get our attention is to use the tools we have provided in the game. Inspect the offending players and issue a Report.

Please know that cheating does not include tactical decisions like camping or using really good weapons. We're looking for people who exploit the game or the networks you use to play it.
We would like to request that you do not start discussion topics on this forum (or on other forums) to implicate individuals in acts of cheating. This has resulted in harassment of the accused. We don't want that. We'd rather investigate these matters in private, where justice can be swift. Forum threads that accuse individuals of cheating will be removed.

Lag switching is a big problem in pvp.

I refuse to believe that real people can really be just this stupid. I just adamantly refuse to believe it. I refuse to believe that the species that figured out a way to put one of its members on a moon and is currently working to establish a permanent colony on another planet within the next ten years can produce people so naturally stupid. Because if people really are this -blam!-ing stupid, then I have to conclude that the answer to the Fermi paradox is that aliens looked at our planet and some of them were like "bruh they made the leap from planes to putting someone on their moon in like, sixty years! It took us nearly twice as long! We need to get them up in here" and then others saw our forums, showed them to the rest, and they all collectively decided that we're probably just lucky and are up there desperately hoping that we won't figure out how to access their communications network, much like we used to hope that creepy kid in high school wouldn't try to talk to us.

Greeting Guardians, Thank you for reading this. Today I was doing trials with two randoms when my team and I were immediately taken out of each others fire team, leading my team to a loss. It was very confusing and in fact I got a bit frustrated because whatever they did also removed my progress on my passage, I am not freaking out though because it was only 4 wins. When I was in the match my weapons could not damage my opponent except for rockets and supers. I have video evidence and snapshots of the screen. I am a day one destiny player on XB1 if you check my uploads you will see my proof, if you would like me to put the video on to this I can but I have no clue how. Edited by NeckPUNCHattack: 8/10/2015 9:27:41 PMI finally went flawless in trials today!! After many attempts, many lag switchers, 3 different times I was ip kicked. Today, it all changed!! There were a few questionable matches where people's connections constantly went red then green, and they were walkin into walls, but we prevailed!! I use the same 3-4 ppl every time and I can finally say I did it!! Now, 7 matches in (8 if you count the 1 mercy I was granted from our only loss), we saw a guy who seemed to be host, had his connection red barring even before the match (I always check to see what weapons/classes we're up against). We noticed they were rudely tea-bagging and being very aggressive. Then one guy quits out early on. Next, a 2nd quits still early/midway thru the game. The last guy stays in and we start to lose the rounds cause he was either really good, or that "red bar" we saw indicated he was host. We finally got on point and won. Next thing we all start getting spammed with hate mail, saying we cheated and that they were reporting us and "putting us on blast" all over the internet and youtube!! Come on!! I finally get a flawless in trials, and this is what I have to deal with?? I even checked their xbox feeds and saw how they took screenshots of their one teammate with a red connection in some of the matches BEFORE we even played them. They even made a video clip of how they were returned to orbit, one of which looked like it was forcing him to join his other buddy that quit out/got kicked before he did. Through all the spamming of his messages, I basically told him to report me because I didn't cheat and I have nothing to hide. Furthermore, I told him I've never been banned because of the fact that I don't cheat and anyone who can see my stats at Bungie will see this is true. I have nothing to hide and I WISH someone from Bungie would check into this matter so people like this who falsely claim this garbage would grow up and stop blaming others for this bs stuff. I reported them to xbox and sent a bungie report after I was attacked with countless messages, but I wish Bungie would check into this and then contact those little sore losers (with bad connections) and tell them they were wrong. They spammed my team with hate, made videos of our GTs (and part of them being kicked to orbit, then the video cuts off as it looks like the one guy is force-joining his friend in orbit), and said they'll post our GTs all over the place, so we should expect hate mail. I'm so tired of little kids who have an entitled arrogance about them that think it's okay to do what they do. I just wish THOSE types of people would be put in their place! tl;dr - Anyway, for anyone who actually reads this/takes the time to check into this matter but didn't want to read this whole rant, just know that I finally made it to the lighthouse for the first time today, then got accused of cheating because of one of the teams (who's game permalink has been included in this message) we went against had horrible connections and 2 of them were forced back to orbit (which can be clearly seen in the videos they made during our match - plus - a match they played before my team, they took screenshots of their "red bar" connections). They then spammed my team with hate mail and put our gamertags on youtube for more people to wrongfully accuse us of cheating, even though you can clearly see in their video that they were returned to orbit and it also looked like the 2nd person who left the match was being forced into a fireteam in orbit with the 1st guy who left the match. If anyone could check into these false accusations I would greatly appreciate it!! EDIT: when I say, "after may times, many lag switchers, etc." I am referring to all the weekends I played trials since HoW launched.

There needs to be a better report system that explains exactly what the cheaters are doing as cheating ad bad connection doesn't really explain anything thats happening.

We had a little trouble today, but finally my teammate Tube01 started to carry me (Dawolve) and my brother KennethhDW. We managed to get to the 8-0. We checked out the enemy grimoire and were sure we could win (over-encouraged, i know). Then it all happened as you can see in the video. A little laggin now and then is annoying but this is straight up cheating. This destroys the fun we competative players have. So please bungie, do something about these guys. I was playing trials of osiris with me and a good team and the first thing we encounter are a group of kids who were jumping around the map appearing behind us without even being detected in our radars and shot us with not even a bullet. Please fix this Bungie because im tired of almost getting flawless kills but losing so many matches because people have to mess up the game by cheating and messing up the internet for everyone. Hey DeeJ my clan mates just played against a Lagswitcher in trials. He was absolutely invincible and he just waited for overtime and then captured the point. I reported him but I wanna make sure he gets banned for his actions.

Deej, you created this topic so please repsond to the community at large as this is affecting so many honest players. Hope I've done this in the right way, also used the in game tool but wanted to provide video evidence too. Feel free to censor/redact anything you wish as long as the video helps. You've given PvP purpose with HoW, me and my clanmates play so much more these days, both Trials and standard Crucible. This will put people off unless you address it properly and any plans or improvements you have in mind.

It's all well and good reporting these cheaters but it doesn't bring back what you've lost not just cheaters even the people who are lagging so bad that you can't damage them I have multiple posts on my activity feed of bs that happens every week and it's not my connection
