Now that we know who Chief really killed (terrorists who wished to sabotage peace between humans and Elites), we no longer have any reason to suspect Chief's actions or motives. Doesn't mean he's innocent, just means we have no grounds to suspect him.

I'm glad in that sense that his name has been cleared (at least to the viewer). But there are still more episodes to come. It's not over yet.
