How do you keep from people simply being thrown in at the end and getting rewards for one lone part, but also not have people screwed when they've lost their random due to connection, rage quit, or simply trolling?

 • Well it's not any different than currently when someone drops due to connection issues. You wipe and try to get someone back in. As far as someone coming in at the end and getting full credit, that's why matchmaking needs to be optional so that if that sort of thing bothers you, you can always turn it off. Thanks for your input.

 • Matchmaking being optional doesn't keep people from getting rewards without performance. And people who found their team on here or lfg are highly likely to simply invite back anyone they lose through whatever means they found them, as it required little to no effort in the first place.

 • Nope, but it wouldn't bother me so long as I get to play the content. Some of you are far too focused on others when you should only be concerned with yourselves. If you're enjoying the game your way why can't others enjoy it their way? Someone wanting to cheat in a competitive game mode being the worst offense, even so...so what? Report them and move on. What is with the whole "If I don't want it then no one should have it!"...you all sound like a bunch of children "But mommy, Billy only played for 1 inning, why does he get a trophy too?" The worst part is alot of you ate adults and still acting this way. Please try to understand I have tried to get groups, and I know why I can't. I don't have godly horn, I don't have experience, my stats are nothing to brag about. All this is true, but I still want to play these parts, if all people care about is winning then I'm an inconsistent variable they don't want. I JUST WANT TO BE ABLE TO PLAY IT. What's so wrong with that?

 • What you don't see is that matchmaking (even if optional) doesn't just have no effect on the people who don't want to use it. It changes everything. Every lfg resource becomes nothing BUT the people who are only looking for 365 gallys. It leaves no way to sort between elitists and casuals who are gonna give up 2 hours in. You're simply giving up on finding people. I've completed hundredsss of raids, and I have not ever been on a team that kicked or even not picked up someone because of their lack of a specific weapon. The only thing that I've ever let someone be kicked over is a bad attitude.

 • I'm happy that you had a much better experience than me, doesn't change the experience I have had with external lfg sites though. In regards to how the extendable lfg sites would change we'll have to agree to disagree. I believe they would only improve, people wanting to be carried, or "lazy people" would simply use the in game systems leaving the lfg sites less cluttered with "casuals". Besides you can't currently tell the difference between elitists, casuals who will leave after 2 hours, people that will boot you at the end because a friend just came online, etc. Not until after you're dealing with them. So I'm struggling to see (by your statement) what would change.

 • Because everyone between quitters and elitists would be using the matchmaking. Rather than getting on here. Myself included. This along with the massive flood of players who don't have the incentive to even look on here for a team, but can now just click search, then leave your fireteam down one or more players after an hour.

 • That is why optional is the only solution. Myself and others know the downfalls of matchmaking. We also know the benefits. With the exception of 1 person from this forum my entire friends list is from matchmaking in other games. You can find good people in matchmaking.

 • I'm not saying you can't. It just takes more matches. The problem isn't that whether you have a choice to use it. Its that the entire way of sorting through preferable players vs others is then gone. Anyone not looking for just Ghorn and max lvl will just be in matchmaking, hoping to not get the shitty team members. I just don't understand how anyone can justify their lack of incentive to just look on the forums and add a few people or join a clan. I've seen countless people spend enough time arguing that they just don't want to, that they could have done it hundreds of times over.

 • My time on these forms is time when I'm not able to play Destiny. I'm sure there are those that multitasking both, or just like to complain and not seek a resolution on their own. I'm also certain that the majority are more like me than the former, they aren't available to play Destiny when they are on the forums. I personally work 50+ hours a week, usually over 60, have kids and an amazing wife that I enjoy spending time with so my game time is normally a couple hours after the kids are in bed. Other than that I occasionally take time on my off day, at those times I have tried utilizing the external lfg sites/apps with no luck. You can't tell me that anyone can find a group whenever, I have tried unsuccessfully multiple times. Anyway, that's why I would like to have optional matchmaking. The current formula doesn't work for my lifestyle.
