No offense, but do you guys actually have that difficult of a time in Trials? I personally have went Flawless 5+ times in the past two weeks, (only have 2 leveled up characters as I deleted my Titan to make another Hunter), and only lost 3 times with my team, and never suffered a loss because of the mercy. The whole first flawless run, we never even lost a round. I think Trials is too easy. People that lose too many games shouldn't be able to purchase another passage and renter Trials in the same day. People being actually eliminated for the week would keep the good players in and the bad out, making Trials a more challenging experience, and a lot more fun. I understand that this puts out the players that don't have good teams, or are mainly PvE players, but why would you have so much reward and so many chances if you continue to fail? (Check my stats on Destiny Tracker if you don't believe me). Constructive feedback is always appreciated, but hate is never loved :(

  • I would like to apologize, as I obviously offended some people. I wasn't "bragging" or "pumping my ego" by saying what I did. In fact, I only stated information about my stats in one sentence. I was stating that Trials should be more challenging as it is. The competition would seem more fun, and rewards would be more rewarding if people actually got eliminated. Not forever, just for the week, as if were a tournament. I suppose the people that aren't having such an easy go at Trials would be offended, and for that, I am sorry.

  • Man, I understand where you're coming from. You must be very good at PVP. Maybe Trials should be tiered? Like, higher-skilled players could compete with each other in a higher tier. But for some people, like me, Trials is brutal, and extremely difficult. 5 wins is miraculous for me, and a Lighthouse trip (which I just made) is unreal. Just, please take that into consideration. We all stared at the bottom, and some of us are still down there.

  • Its hard to do well when you go against cheaters. Yesterday me and my teamate (both of us at full hp) got instakilled by a titan punch. NOT his shoulder charge either. And to top it off, his instakill got both of us at the same time, and somehow killed me threw my sunsinger punch shield. Not to mention i had full hp so an instakill punch isnt possible

  • I am not a great player, and I find it very difficult. But I'm not going to stop playing just because it's hard.

You do realize that you are beating other guardians therefore they can't go flawless? It's such a ego pumping statement to tell everyone how easily you did it.

  • Because maybe Determination in the face of overwhelming odds-Thorn, Revive Snipers,Impossible Supers and CLUTCH moments- shouldn't be punished? Trials is (to be honest) an overly competitive bish that I force myself to try because the rewards are impossible to pass up, and then regret as it turns into a clusterF of pure hatred against the enemy team, along with elation as you win, or depthless disappointment as you lose. Along with a tad bit of guilt as you see someone else be completed. Ultimately it may be that trials is somewhat built upon using "Anything and Everything", in a way, and it ultimately becomes a lot of dirty moves. That fact you can snipe someone dead after they revive, and before they can even move, is UTTERLY stupid. Ive had it happen, and after that I started doing it back. Blink-Shotgun, shotgun camping...final round.. I have to wonder, am I the only one who doesn't enjoy halting others from getting things? That I would rather cooperate with people(and thus prefer PvE)? PvP can be fun, and at least the RNG of it means everyone has a chance. Why can't we rise together, instead of apart? Do some people legitimately just "get off" knowing they ruined someone else's attempt? Do they not consider the avatars on the other end of the barrel as people, or do they not care? Iunno. Give me a bunch of (possibly overpowered) AI Any day with a group at my back, and I'd be happy.
But that's just me, of course. I don't think that, despite my attempts, I can honestly understand a PvP standpoint.
• The whole teaming up idea with other guardians is the main reason I bought this game. I made a rant on another post basically saying that if I wanted to play PVP, I would go play a different game. There are so many PVP games out there that are way better than Destiny. I mainly just want to team up with my fellow Guardians, shoot aliens in the face, and save Earth with them!

  • Yeah. If Shaxx had never bothered with his Crucible... We could have probably made an alliance with the Fallen, written a peace treaty with the Cabal, utterly ahnihilated the Hive and Vex, all of that several times over. Instead we're wasting ammo, time, and even the Light itself in the Crucible. And for what? Shaxx's goal is to Forge a "new generation" that'll prevent another Twilight Gap...but c'mon...you know he'll never stop because he'll never be satisfied. If he really wanted to prevent another Twilight Gap he'd be a PvE supplier, cause MAYBE, JUST MAYBE.. Fallen/Hive/Vex/Cabal don't fight the way guardians do! When have you seen a fallen shotgun camp, blink shotgun? When have they self rezzed, used a throwing knife or a golden gun? How does the Crucible,PvP, supposedly prepare people for something in the PvE realm? Twilight Gap, based on the map, was conventional,MASS warfare. How does 6v6 respawning deathmatches prepare us for that? Our actual enemies don't respawn. That's all just more focused on an "in-universe" look on it..

  • Exactly, could not agree more. I understand why they put Crucible in, and I am fine with there being an option for PVP, but the fact that Bungie( I meant Activision) is putting all their focus onto the PVP aspect of the game is ruining the PVE of this game. They are trying to compete with Call of Duty genre of games which makes absolutely no sense when most of the players who bought this game was for the PVE. I would have liked to see more raids put into the game, more strikes, and an actual story! This game has the potential to be amazing but Bungie's shortsightedness is going to be the downfall of this game.

  • I also wouldn't like the feeling of shutting down someone's run, but also think that may be highly unlikely for me! at least for a while.

  • I completely understand your viewpoint, and largely agree. That's why it's good they have normal crucible too where it makes less of a difference if you win or lose, mixes up the teams if you are not on a fire team and can still be fun. There is a place for the super competitive breed of this now, with some incentive as well. I think that is okay as long as all PVP isn't like that. For the record, I haven't done ToO yet, and if anyone lets me on their team late (was out if town all weekend when they started it and seems like everyone has their established squad now ) I'll probably get crushed to both cheap moves and pure skill, but I still want to give it a few shots!

You need to realise that some ppl play more pvp and some less. If you would meet in theory ppl with the exactly same skill level as yours then you would never get flawless. You sound like a cocky douche with your statements. I rather fail 100 times with my lesss pvp experienced friends then spend one minute with similar douchebags like you only to get some pixels in a game.

  • I know what your saying but I personally think it's a bit harsh.. I think you flawless runners should compete with each other and us scrubs plays each other and keep it kind of fairer. I know there's a few flawless trialists that like to go back in just to ruin others chances, these games should be match made by skill, that would make it challenging for you beasts of pvp

  • That wouldn't make sense, you'd essentially be punished for being good at the game? If they give better rewards to people who played against a higher skill level player I am all for it but that would cause alot of conflict, bad players will say they don't even get a chance at getting the better gear. The best matchmaking system would be matching you against people who have the same or almost the same scorecard as yourself...

  • Not necessarily punished for being good, just offering you more of a challenge. Right now it's really a punishment of being ok at the game to go against the better prepared and better players and get crushed. I'm fine with losing a close game, we tried but the other team just out preformed us, but losing 5-0 is incredibly frustrating and for me doesn't leave me with a desire to improve, I just feel like quitting afterwards.

  • They want to prove their the best at the game don't they?? Lol and I don't mean right away. Sorry if I didn't explain that lol I meant once they went flawless for that week then they go into that pool of playing other flawless. You never know, if I was in control is throw in another reward for going flawless against the flawless
