Basically what the tittle says.
With Gjallarhorn you can 'cheese' around frustrating boss mechanics that don't work 100% of the time.
11 times in a row the eye spawned no where near us, so that's a 30 second wipe with an 8 minute wait in airlock for supers and ammo to be available again x 11. 88 minutes waiting in an airlock versus 5-6ish minutes playing. And when I leave (because I don't have a Gjallarhorn and I tell my friends 'I'm just stopping you from Beating this') 1.5 hours later they both have 3 etheric light and I have -blam!- all.
Like damn!
And for all you get good commenters, why don't you try dismantling your Gjallarhorn and having the same amount of fun doing end game content without it.
The problem lies in the fact that Bungie are just lazy developers and can't Seem to find the imagination to design a boss fight that can't have its mechanics totally negated by using Gjallarhorn, or thy can't seem to code the mechanics so that they actually work like they're supposed to!

I've got three maxed gallys and I didn't use it in the 34 fight at all..... Actually none of us did, and we got it done the second attempt. Stop blaming failures on not having a gally and find a way to adapt to the fight as it evolves
-
Ayy lmao OP mad.
-
Chill dude, the the first is very doable without it. We used scout rifles to dps him because he was moving so much and it worked very well.
-
Arc sniper for 35 and upgraded shotgun/ scout / any heavy for 34. No gally required this week. So yeah, get gud or something.
-
Wtf half my teams I run poe with dont even have a gally there still get it done. Its just another wepon. Is it good yes but is not necessary and if anyone thinks that they need it to be good they are idiots and are probably leaning on the gally llike a crutch.
-
Why are you looking for randoms? If you're not able to get 2 friends to play then join a clan. There are probably about a 1000 clans that you could easily join, instead of sitting for hrs waiting & hoping some randoms will join you. I can agree that the 34 boss fight could possibly use a little tweaking. The only real problem I see at this point, is the fact the containment shield dose a little to much damage to quickly.

Edited by stegabba19: 5/29/2015 10:23:51 AMWe beat it yesterday with 2 gallys from 34s and a 33 with the truth lol
-
You think you need a ghorn to complete anything in this game? That's like saying you need a condom to get a BJ
-
Boo hoo.
-
I did it without gallys, 8 mins, just gotta keep an eye out for the eye or get ready to shotgun everything.
-
gitgud at pvp?
-
Instead of blaming Bungie for your own inability to solve puzzles, you can just man up and get good with the weapons you've been dealt! Before you go crying that I'm "one of those people with ghorn" go ahead and inspect my character. Never had it, BARELY want it even.
-
Gjallarhorn is easy mode.
-
We beat this boss easily with no gallys, you just need to find people who want to play the mechanic as it was intended rather than sitting in an airlock for 10 mins between attempts for the 'easiest' method. Its a lot more fun too. .
-
My thunder lord -blam!-s shit up just as much as any1s gally thank you very much.
-
Ive done it twice this week with no Jelly horn use, mainly because we went with invectives for shield breakage. Did it monday carrying 2 33s, lasst night we did it with 2 34s and a 33, they used ice breakers for the ammo regen. A lot of players are just....... not very good. Find some better players to play with.
-
Sorry mate people on here are as thick as pig shit and only want to abuse others.
-
I have gally and I have yet to get an etheric light I can't get the last armor piece I need to be 34 (boots) but want to run the 34 badly
-
Which system are you on? I prefer doing this boss fight without my gally. My weapon of choice are ice breaker or whatever sniper you may have and my corrective measure for the bubbles. I helped a few people today to beat the boss and they all did not have a gally. It helps but not needed :)

-
No offense but that is probably the most ignorant title I have ever read.
-
Agreed...and I have it.
-
I still don't know why people are so upset about this. I'm going to chalk it up to jealousy, it seems like that can be the only reason. If everyone had the Ghorn, people would be complaining about it being OP and how players who use it have no skill.
-
Good pvp players are aloud to get more Etheric light than pve
-
Found Verdict/Icebreaker/Invective Corrective Measure/Thunderlord/Hunger/Truth All can be used. No gun is necessary.
-
I did the fight with icebreaker and corrective measure and it was fine. I have a Gjallarhorn but found icebreaker/corrective combo better for the detainment fields.
