3/8 inch thick? That is fine for a prop but if you ever want to make a functional one you should stick with 1/4 inch max. It might actually be better to go down to 3/16. This is unless you want the knife to specialize as an entry tool, of course. :) Anyways, all sarcasm aside, the knife you want to go for is a combat knife and bigger is not always better in that field. The thickness of the blade would cause it to be too cumbersome and would actually create quite a bit of resistance if you went to stab through something. A more streamlined blade would create faster attacks and historically speaking (this mostly from Medieval martial arts) whoever lands the first blow wins the fight. Anywho, this is my two cents. You don't have to listen to anything I say and I am by no means saying you don't know what you're doing but I'm just throwing out a little bit of advice. You have a good life, sir. Edit: I apologize if it sounded like I was critiquing your work and pointing out flaws or anything of that nature. You definitely did some excellent work, mate.

  • Crazy enough, the prop is actually smaller than the specs indicate and is intended to be nothing other than a prop. IRL it should be closer to 1/2" thick and over 17" long. When it comes to a combat knife, I will leave that to the pros and my go-to is a Gerber LHR but quite frankly, I prefer my Sig 1911 to any blade. : )

At those specs... It's a sword, let's be honest.

  • Damn these games and their unrealistic expectations for knives! :P My everyday carry is the Emerson CQC-10 but for fixed blades I really like TOPS Knives' Silent Hero (even though it is a bit on the large size) and the Ka-Bar Becker Campanion. I mostly make my own knives though.
