Ascended Gear Bug
So I ascended my new scout rifle today after I was sure I wanted to keep it but not with the perks it had. Its the NL Shadow 701X Scout Rifle, went to reforge for different perks. When I reforged my gun, I checked to see my new perks and low and behold, my gun reset to 331... Oh Man! I promptly shut of my system because I didn't have time to deal with it, 3D class was in an hour and still had to drive there. I wasn't to happy about what happened and I'm pretty sure it's a bug in the code because ascended gear should stay ascended. Might want to jump on this soon Bungie, I'm fine with getting another one but others aren't so forgiving as I am.

Think of reforging less of Banshee fiddling with your gun before handing it back to you, and more of Banshee destroying your gun and replacing it with a new one of the same model. New perks and everything. Same model, but a new, separate weapon.

You can ascend any weapon and piece of gear if you have etheric light, glimmer, and mats, but it shouldn't undo that process because ascending is a trait of each piece of gear that can't change (Unless that piece is already at 365 when you got it) no matter how many times you reforge it. This new system of upgrading is also different from the old one as you can see, no damage/defense upgrades along the gears xp path. Only by ascension can you reach the max potential of a piece of equipment. The xp on a gun can reset, and the perks, but ascension should be permanent. Just read that it also changes ascension but that shouldn't happen, what the gunsmith got greedy and stole it from me... Cryptarch, I blame you for this! I know you can't dismantle ascended gear to get etheric, but at least leave my ascension alone!

They stated in the first livestream reveal that reforging weapons would reset the perk progress and the ascention. You always want to reforge first and you never want to ascend a weapon you want to reforge.

Why would you reroll after ascending? It says the weapon will reset when you do so.

This isn't a big. It would be the same thing as if you had maxed out it's DMG the old way. It resets it's progress.
