We tried dropping two ward of dawns (one with weapons the other with blessing) and unloading fully loaded gjallarhorns on the forever eater right away in the center. Use a heavy synthesis and repeat but our bubbles disappeared before we could finish him. By that time too many adds had piled up around us and we wiped when we were detained. After that failure we decided to try surviving as long as possible and withering him down. We had two level 34 Titans and a level 34 warlock. I was in charged of taking out the eye and using jail breaker to get us all out of detainment. If a teammate goes down often times it is best to leave them dead until the detainment happens and just before you are detained stand on their body and revive them after being detained. They come back to life without being detained and it can save you if you were unable to get jail breaker. Another thing to remember is warlocks can self res after dying in detainment and come back without detainment. So if your warlock is dead between detainments it would be wise to wait until after the detainment happens to use their self res if possible. I used a maxed out 4th horseman to rip through the detainment fields. 7 shots gets you out without jail breaker and with jail breaker and everyone piled into a small space you can tear through all three fields with 6 shots (5 rapid auto fire and 1 more after reloading). This strategy is just about surviving at all costs and doing damage to the boss when you have time and space available. Ward of dawns were useful in providing extra damage and over shields but with trickle on they were few and far between. We mostly stayed on the far left because the eye would spawn in and come right to us instantly. Also, about 12 rounds from a 365 fatebringer takes him out and staggers him well enough where he doesn't do much damage to you. Good luck! This was a lot more difficult than urrox last week and more frustrating but as with all things felt more rewarding to complete. Sorry I don't have video to link you to.

  • We both had helm of Saint 14 on but the adds that killed us weren't the ones that entered the bubbles, rather the 20 or so hobgoblins that were standing about 15 steps outside lighting us up as the ward of dawns ran out.

  • Yeah probably would have helped but I'm not sure we would have had enough time still, we only had two maxed gjallarhorns and a hunger and we took him to about a third to two fifths of his health. We had on gift of the void in hopes that even with trickle active it would be enough to push us to an extra super after collecting 5 orbs but it wasn't enough. We didn't feel like waiting an extra 10 minutes until two full sets of heavy ammo synths were ready to retry with bastion so we just started messing around with the other strategy.

  • Fair enough, it was touch and go, with two gjallies and a hunger, both times a warlock res'd from detainment and killed him after! Ropey as!
