Deej, please make an official statement

OK, Deej. Matchmaking toggle ON/OFF in settings for all endgame activities. Thousands, maybe millions have been begging for this. Now especially with PoE and ToO. We deserve a solid answer from Bungie. Why is this being ignored and what valid reason do you have for not having this? Sure, we understand all the reasons why you/Bungie think forming your own fire team is the best way to experience the game. The points are valid, but not one size fits all. We also have many valid reasons why the act of manually matchmaking with LFG randoms using forums and external sources is not a good solution, and is no different or better than in-game matchmaking. My "friends" list has been forced to grow to the hundreds with all randoms, maybe two or three have become actual friends, and still I can't get a fire team at the drop of a hat when I want it to play many parts of the game. I'm adding insane amounts of friends to my list daily and it doesn't make fire team finding any easier. It's ridiculous. It's so inefficient and archaic. Why are you dictating to us how you think we need to play the game? If we don't mind the matchmaking with potential randoms that suck or go AFK, then what is the issue? I'd much rather put up with the occasional random bad team than all the hassles I have to face in trying to manually create a fire team with LFG random "friends" (that may or may not end up being the same bad team!) And if it's optional in game settings, then everybody wins. Turn it on or off, depending on your preference for finding a fireteam. So easy. So intelligent. Deej, what's the answer?

  • I just joined the bandwagon, well I officially see your side of the argument. I too have added insane amounts of people to my "friends" list only to be later deleted or to have my invitations overlooked. Matchmaking would eliminate this but admittedly bring in more crying as well. I wouldn't mind reading the headache of a bad team as long as bungie covers down. Put a disclaimer or pretend that the matchmaking is a difficult mode that when chosen says something like, "Match made teams are not required to use mics or have any experience, join matchmaking at your own risk. There are no fireteam leaders and there will be a penalty for abandoning a fireteam. Good luck gaurdian, blah blah blah."
