I'll cut to the chase we need match making in every thing.
So in my opinion this is the difference between having a in game matchmaking and what we use today outside of the game for group matching.
Today's way of endgame matchmaking.
1-Pick up phone
2-find lfg app that's wasting space on my phone
3- find a group that doesn't require the freaking gjallarhorn because I dont have one
4- once you find the group go into the message friend option on the console
5- try to spell the extremely long and ridiculous name of the person in charge of the group.
6- wait for response
7-get no response
8- repeat steps 1 through 6
9- finally get response
10- get Into group
11- halfway through RANDOM group people go afk or group fails.
12- repeat steps 1 through 11
The way it should be......
1- start game
2- push matchmaking button
3-play game
4-have fun
The elite payers can still have the pugs and the none elites can have matchmaking we all win!!!! All I ask is for the option.

In reality it´s: 1-start game 2-push matchmaking button 3-play game 4-player quit 5-another player joined 6-try to talk sense into 2 players running without a mic 7-carry players through a few rounds 8-ragequit because you can´t take this anymore 9-repeat the process and pray to the RNGesus to get a normal team. I agree matchmaking should be in the game as an optional feature and if you want you can take your fireteam in. But honestly, I would lose my nerves. At least right now yuo can choose the people you want depending on their character, level, mic etc etc

I laughed at number 5. So true.

Edited by Vox Mortuis: 5/25/2015 8:34:18 AMMatchmaking in 28 PoE = me rushing to complete the objectives, being able to ignore the weak mobs, other two guys standing around or only killing enemies. If that happened in 32 and up the fireteam would fail over and over. No in game matchmaking for 34 PoE (group chat random fireteam) cleared in one try, everyone working together. Basically, if you want to fail over and over with match made fireteams I suppose that's your business. I'm fine with the way it is.

Then we'll get "BUNGIE MAKE MATCHMAKING BASED ON SKILL OR RAID COMPLETIONS IM SO FRUSTRATED GETTING PAIRED UP WITH IDIOTS" I'm calling it now.
-
Just use the recruitment section on the Bungie website, I've never had a problem finding a group there. If not, START a thread yourself and dictate the requirements (you mentioned you dont have gally).
-
Dude, you really have no one of your friends that plays? Wouldn't you rather be with the people you know are PROS at this game? Or match made into a lobby with all noobs who DONT KNOW what they're doing?

Filthy casuals

Get friends, loser. No friends at school is sad. On a video game is inhuman.

Edited by Old-Iron-Balls: 5/25/2015 7:51:59 AMAlso just use a web link, takes up far less space on your phone.

We need options to matchmake or to solo/two man things, choices are what we want.
-
Needs to be OPTIONAL... Bungie... please listen. LFG sucks.
-
Hell no. I rather solo it on my own. There are times when I do a strike the other players that just stand around.
-
Only optional, and not at all in Trials.

Bump for truth. MM would make this game like 10x more enjoyable for me
-
-
I would take any in game option. Hate going to app or something to play the game.
-
I completely agree, there is no harm in optional matchmaking. The only problem is that so far bungie is adamant about making forced matchmaking or no matchmaking at all. it makes no sense but bungie seems completely apposed to optional matchmaking.

In game LFG
-
In game LFG system is the only compromise. Matchmaking won't work.

Actually, #11 is much more likely to happen in matchmade instances while the second #4 is more likely to happen in LFG instances. Here are some sequences of what will happen: 1) People use matchamaking 2) People fail miserably at the content due to being bad, not having sufficient gear and/or experience, not using mics, etc. 3) People cry about the content being too difficult 4) Bungie makes content stupid easy due to all the crying 1) People use matchmaking 2) People go AFK and expect to be carried while they go do something else 3) People get mad and demand the ability to kick people in matchmade instances 4) People abuse the ability to kick and kick people before loot just for fun My general feeling is that if you really find it that inconvenient to spend a couple of second to use a website, then you're probably not the kind of person I want in my groups in more difficult/time-consuming content.
-
Agreed... I'll never understand why people complain when they lose nothing.
-
Just so u know that little envelope symbol on the LFG sight next to their name is so u can msg them. It's much easier. I will always stand behind LFG sites, I've met some assholes, but also so great people I still play with and formed a clan with.
