If you don't already know about it. There are a few sites for LFG (looking for group) activities. Easiest way to find people that are looking to team up.

Also be ready for 80% of the groups to have "must have gally" in their description.

I know, I tried them but we never finish when I join a team in them.

Keep trying, I've never had a group that blatantly quit. Usually really good people in there. If you let people know you're relatively new to the activities, you can find people that are ok with helping.
