Both NM and DO have goals that are far too idealistic. A stable government based upon a single righteous individual is insane. Even supposing this individual remains uncorrupted by power, if he is removed by external forces, like say, the millions of aliens who wish to see us turned into dust, the entire system will collapse. It's probably more likely that he'd become a dictator though. Dead Orbit wishes to build a fleet to escape the Darkness, but that is being far too naive. There's just no way ships built out of scavenged golden age technology could escape the Darkness. The Vex have instantaneous teleportation across galaxies. There's simply no running from that. FWC has seen the future, and it is a grim one. A war will come and humanity will lose. Instead of building doomed vessels or preaching unrealistic ideologies, is it not in humanity's best interest to emerge victorious in the war where defeat is oblivion?
