Short PvP Rant about the PvP Community
All this talk about who is better on Destiny is just stupid. We are talking about an FPS game where everything is buffed, everything is on steroids. There is no "true skill based matchmaking", neither is there custom games. I have never played an FPS game where everything was so easy to do, grenades, weapons, jumps,
supers, connection. Just too much, there is literally no challenge if you know how to abuse the game. It's like being born as a rich kid and staying like that, getting everything you want as long as you know how to maintain it. All this trash talk, just stop. This game has no competitive scene, and probably for good reason. This is just a casual game that you play for fun, coming from a point of view where I'm a "top skirmish leaderboard kid" where I know there are better players than me out there. Heck there might be a 6 year old better than me in china, stats don't matter. I just want to chill and socialize with people who want to have fun as well. At the end of the day, it's just a game, and a game with no competitive scene. Until this game goes pro, which I doubt will happen but anything is possible, it's a casual game. I guarantee you top pros from any real competitive fps who would put in the time for this game, could easily dominate, because it is so easy. Trash talking in a game where it doesn't take much skill or effort to be good at won't get you anywhere. Do us a favour, chill out, and have fun, just like others. We need less of you people in this community, and more people who genuinely want to have a good time, and be with others who want the same. :)

There are some real dorks out there who take PvP way too serious. You can tell those are the type of kids that weren't any good at team sports though because they don't know any sportsmanship.

Here's how to be good at Destiny: 1. Use Thorn/TLW 2. Blink Shotgun with Felwinter's Lie or Final Round with Efrideet's Spear 3. Use a Blade Dancer.

4 RepliesI never liked PvP, and I probably never will. As a Halo player, I enjoy balanced games. Plus most of the nerfs are based off of complaints by the PvP community, which screws things up for us PvE players. Honestly, PvP and PvE should always be separated.

This is a magical game with a lot of assist and crutches. But if you don't how to use them, then this could be a skilled based game for that user. Bungie may have just wanted everyone to feel happy simply just playing. But since you hot and bad Azz, Take us down memory lane. Where are your stats for MW or Halo? Any one of them. Or whatever elite skill based FPS u can show. Oh and ...... Star Citizen will be hot as hell too

It is certainly fun and fun should come first regardless of the game, but I think this game would be perfect for competitive play if there were Private Matches. I don't generally run into a lot of trashtalkers on Playstation, but a lot of us are still highly competitive and want to play against the best. 1 ReplyThe thing is you can still be unskilled/skilled. Doesn't matter whether you are playing a casual game or not. You can still be good or bad. You can be good at destiny. There's nothing wrong with that and there's nothing wrong with being happy about that. If the average KD is a one and you're pretty far above that then that rocks. You're good at the crucible. Bragging about any game, even competitive ones, is completely ridiculous. It's cool to be good, not cool to think you're better because of it. But it's a little ridiculous to say it's really easy to be great at this game unless you're playing in fireteams all the time. Halo multiplayer is the only game I've had a tougher time with overall. Let people be happy about success. Don't let people be happy about bragging. That's not cool.

I couldn't care less who is better than me or what my stats are. I just hate dealing with lag or cheating. Just let me play the game on a level playing board and I'm happy. Pumping 3 close range shotgun blasts into some guy only to have him melee me to death does not make me happy.

10 RepliesI don't have fun anymore with PvP. Everyone is using Thorn and people who don't use it get killed too quickly. Most "pro" gamer are lag switcher or going in with a team. Destiny is just about connection and Thorn. I really start to hate Bungie and Destiny. Why do you got all that loot and weapons? There are just Thorn/TLW/Red Death as primary, Felwinter' Lie/Effidet's Spear with LR as secondary and any cluster rocket launcher. It's just trash, not casual.

1 ReplyI really don't have any respect for people that play in parties then feel super great about pub stomping randoms and are like look at my win % guys. It's sooooooo good. I used to do it in COD and it isn't even fun. Prison of elders might make it a bit more even, but I doubt it.

Tbh I'm enjoying every buff and nerf. I loved it when auto was mostly used but I'm also now enjoying the hand cannons. Soon it'll be another primary being overused. PvP changes all the time.

4 RepliesCompletely agree. I'm one of those 4+ k/d players in BF3 and less recent COD games and this game is just fun. Ya dude i got a 60 kill streak.... against a bunch of One-character lvl 3's..... Stats don't mean too much in this game as you can inflate whatever stat you want to. K/d? Camp behind your fireteam. Kills in a match? Control with a full fireteam, let a lobby of noobs 3-cap and have one person farm kills. Win %? Any game mode with a full fireteam. Stats aren't a completely objective representation of skill in any game but they really mean much less in Destiny without even mention the spotty connections and absurd matchmaking. Much better to just laugh and continue shotgun sliding with my sniper :)
