Who said it was a race to 34?
The game doesn't self destruct if you don't get there in one week after release......
take this perceived race a shove it, this is what creates elitists and ruins gaming.

Edited by me2ez: 5/7/2015 3:51:34 PMan elitist isnt a negative thing... elitist and the things they stumble upon and critique helps mold a good game to becoming a great game. right now... this game isnt great.
-
I agree with your statement that elitists are not always a negative thing and they have their place, but the level of arrogance exuded by the significant majority of these individuals have more of a negative impact on the community than a positive one. In my opinion of course. I see my comment does direct someone to believe that I'm stating elitists are ruining gaming, I should edit that and reword it. My gripe is about the perceived race, not elitists.
-
Elitist may hold the majority on toxic people in a gaming community, but one could argue that the casual gamer is ruining the game itself. Casual gamers dont care for a challenge, they pretty much just enjoy playing with people and shooting the heads off aliens. The elitist finds joy in the true challenge of something in a game. This game isnt challenging is almost anyway at all and its because the casual player rules the direction of the PvE.. and it sucks but this, in my opinion, is to be true.

I think its great... The qualifier is that even greatness has room for improvement
-
Of course we all deserve to have our own views and im not bashing anyones. but a great game doesnt get 6/10 ratings and 7/10 ratings. just saying numbers speak for themselves more often than not.
-
I booked 2 days off so me and my clan can race to 32 and race to beating the level 35 arena... It is a race.
-
Among friends with a friendly competition- that's healthy and fun. Good luck and enjoy!
-
Yeah haha, we will be fireteamed up at lunch etc, but would be cool to hit worlds first and get some destiny swag from bungie:P

Your nothing more than a mere troll, get the BLAM out

hook line and sinker, sucker
-
You weak pathetic fool
-
Still on my line? Bahaha!

People who race to max level are often the people who get 'bored' of the game because there's 'nothing' to do. That's like reading the last chapter of a book and claiming you've read it, and then telling everyone it's shit because nothing happens
-
Exactly! that's why I hate these posts. Take your time and enjoy the game
-
I'm racing to max level, I have had every exotic for months and still play. Not bored one bit.
-
Good to hear! That's when the game really gets fun
-
No, but your guardian will self destruct in PoE once the level-denial begins.
-
You're the person telling someone they're playing the game wrong, not him. If anything, I think you're the elitist.
-
How am I telling him to play the game wrong? there is no reward for getting to 34 first. Why introduce a perceived need with the notion of a race? I find the race aspect takes away from the game unless its among a friendly competition with friends like some people who have responded in this thread
-
No, I said you are telling him that he is playing the game wrong. That there's something wrong with wanting to get to level 34 in the first week. That he's somehow ruining this community by desiring to get to level 34 as quickly as possible. On the other hand, he never called anyone a noob if they decide that a slower pace is right for them.
But with that dlc comes a new Light Cap everyone is going to race to, at least on their mains, to be ready for the Trails of Osiris. Well after seeing today's Twitch reveal I think a lot of hardcore players may have seen the easy road to Light Level 34 before the Trails go live. (You will need 3 lvl 32 characters)
This doesn't imply that you should be racing to 34 too? Speaking for myself, I found this statement to be telling me how I should be playing the game, hence my original reply. There is no race. A race implies a winner and a loser, the best and the worst. A line of division. I'm saying take your time, screw the race unless its with friends.
-
If you would've left that last sentence out of your initial response, I would've never commented. You're insinuating that people like him are ruining gaming, and that's not true at all. The only 'elitism' that comes out of getting to 34 quickly is "no, as a level 32 I will not carry you through a level 35 prison of elders. Once you hit level 34, I'd be happy to run it with you". You're meeting the sh#ttiest types of people if they actually think they're better than you (besides the physical combat limitations of being under leveled). Those are just sh#tty people though. They'll be around whether this dude gives advice on how to level quickly or not.
