The Destiny ramblings of a shut-in. (gameplay tips and advice)

1) Cheese methods on Strikes more often than not actually take longer than the "legit" method, particularly any method that extremely limits your Line of Sight for the safety. These spots manage Risk vs reward for the most part. 2) Don't get me wrong I LOVE High Impact ARs, my Vanquisher's been by my side for too long to say otherwise and I'll be damned if I didn't say I've used it since IBs of ol'. But, for now, High RoF models are better IF you can manage the recoil, if not try one of either Up For Anything/For The People as the Stable archetype is still superior DPS and TTK wise over the Precise archetype (and have a higher base Stability). Recently I've actually taken quite a shine to Necro (Aggressive Ballistics and Fitted Stock, Cursebringer dealt 5K damage to a HobGob major this Nightfall and I've a 52-55% Precision kill ratio with it) but if you've got a Silimar's with Perfect & Counterbalance you will know a laserbeam. Alternatively use any model with High Caliber and practice spraying around corners, when you see a target then go into Aim Down Sight and laugh as the flinch is real. 3) If you're looking for a PvP Sniper for beginners or advanced play I highly recommend grinding up the New Monarchy. Our Sniper has a higher RoF than Prudence even if it isn't as stable. It also has the highest Target Acquisition base stat (Aim Assist) and is part of the Lightweight archetype (meaning it's a little faster to go into Aim Down Sight, ready from sprint, and a bit faster at swapping). 4) Capping any skill-trait (Str, Disc) will half the time it takes to get those items up, Int however actually doubles the energy you get per-kill. 5) WARLOCKS! Quick tip for PvP/certain PvE activities. Run Radiant Skin, with a capped Armor stat you WILL survive two GG shots, without a capped Armor you will still be able to eat a Nova. And if you've got a coordinated team take a look at Song of Flame, this boils your 'mates Grenade and melee cooldowns to anywhere between 10-5 seconds depending on their skill-trait, down to 3.75 with HoPF. But you need a team to make use of this to communicate that information to them. But Pair this with Ahamkara's Spine and Armamentarium and you will "FILL THE WORLD WITH TEETH"! 6) Efrideet's with Field Scout pretty much has everything you love about Black Hammer with almost as much staying power as Icebreaker. Great for PvE 7) Go ahead and pick up your Faction packages. You may not be able to pick up Commendations from them when the patch hits (as they're being out-modded) and may miss out on 250 (w/o Nightfall) rep, more than double what you get for just opening the package. 8) I'm lovin' Necrocasm. 9) TITANS! More specifically PvP Defenders. If you haven't yet try busting out that cob-web ridden Suppression Grenade. What it does: If they're in-Super (GG, Arc Blade, & Sunsinger especially) it will knock out all their energy immediately, they can't use their second-jump ability, Grenades, Melee abilities, and they get this weird purple over-screen similar to Thorn's green. Oh, and it does damage on-top of all that. Also, try waiting out the other Super activations of the enemy team look in the bottom right of the screen and pay attention to the kill-feed. The result can be all the fun of a Bubble without any of the party-pooper bubble-pops. 10) HUNTERS! I know GG typically don' care, but try using Over The Horizon when fighting Atheon or similar mid-long range situations. GG has an incredibly low base range, enough to not be able to one-shot the Hob-gobs from the top of the steps on Mars without it. The +1 Recovery's OK but not going to do you any real service as far as I can tell. 11) What if I told you there was a perk that allowed almost any weapon to be fired almost immediately after sprinting (shotguns included), that helps you go into Aim Down Sight faster (HandCs included), and even quickens you weapon swap times? Say hello to Quickdraw! Especially on weapons like Jolder's Hammer this perk gives +100 (but the limit on each weapon is 100, so it just caps-out) Handling. Try it. 12) Join the New Monarchy, we've the better weapons overall compared to the other Factions. (Challenge me on this, I dare ye! Especially with that new Pacifier X MG, basically Jolder's with five more on the belt). 13) K/D isn't everything, but if you see a player that has a high K/D and then you take their Score (for a cetain playlist, if you do this overall it will make Rumble and Skirmish players look bad unless you highlight that playlist) and divide that by Activities Entered and you get their overall contribution per-game. For example, my case in Control: 1542251/475 = 3274.8 points per-game. When adding in my 1.58 Control K/D as well as my kills per-weapon you can begin to infer my play-style. (Probably 25/30 of my Titan's Clash matches were with Silimar's, he actually does arguably better than my Hunter!) 14) Grimoire isn't everything as we ALL know, however take this into consideration: 480 total points from Ghosts (Xbox no HoW-beyond glitching) 225 total points from Crucible 705 points out of 2900 (Xbox no glitch 2950 with), but riddle me this. If you saw someone with a capped score knowing they've won a hundred Rumble matches and 50+ Raid completions would you not consider throwing them into your clutches? Thank you for stopping in, feel free to add-in your own bits as well and I may add them into the OP via Edit.
