I know you're taking the piss but you're just making yourself look stupid.

You said competitive so taking away advantages and putting everyone on the same level is competitive thus for a competitive PvP experience all exotics should not be allowed.
-
This isn't Halo, its Destiny. Advantages are things like class one hit kill abilities or certain weapons dominating other weapons (which wouldn't be hated if everyone could just buy them). We still need some customisation and depth to our loadouts, sure its not 100% balanced but builds counter builds and it makes it more interesting than every player having the same gun (I loved Halo but.... this is Destiny). You could have said "certain weapon" or "certain armour" but you said "No exotics Armor or weapons" which is a post no one can take seriously when discussing something like this.

Edited by bloodocean13: 5/5/2015 4:20:10 PMWell here's how i look at it. Any exotic weapon or armor piece used is a crutch. Yes I use an exotic armor piece ill admit it. but I refrain, or try to refrain from using exotic weapons. To keep things on a level playing field and competitive these crutches need to be dropped. And if you or anyone else can't take me seriously when I say no exotics at all then you have no business thinking of a "competitive" multiplayer for Destiny.

But you see, we're thinking about competitive Destiny. Destiny is based around its mechanics and the way our gear works already. Sure, maybe banning certain exotics such as the hunter helmet for four GG shots and banning abilities such as shoulder charge but I don't see anything wrong with certain exotics. Hell, there might even be a small selection of exotics that people could use for a competitive Destiny. I would agree to get rid of any exotic that spawns more orbs or helps gain a faster super such as Obsidian Mind or Light Beyond Nemesis but what about an exotic like Ahamkaras spine, the only thing that stands out on it is that Tripmines last longer before blowing up which wouldn't really be an issue in competitive. Hell, in a competitive mode you could get rid of guns like TLW, Thorn, Red death etc and I would completely agree but exotics shouldn't be banned in general. Certain exotics should be allowed, not all of them but definitely some of them. Also, you have no right to say whether some has business thinking of a competitive multiplayer, I'm thinking about Destiny, if you want to play a barebones competitive game then go play Halo or something else... I'm here because I want to play Destiny, not turn it into something else.

Sigh* The whole point of competitive IS to strip it down to the bones so that nothing but skill shines and nothing but skill takes you to the top. And exotics, no matter how useless, take away from that. Like I said it's a crutch, one I enjoy using but again for a competitive multiplyplayer experience things have to be as simple as possible. I mean what if someone doesn't have an exotic weapon or armor piece that everyone else is using? Boom it's no longer fair that person is at a disadvantage and the game is no longer competitive.

You are defining the point in competitive now? You are completely wrong. CS:GO is one of the most competitive games right now and you can select from a variety of weapons depending on how you play and it certainly isn't barebones. Look at League Of Legends, Dota 2 or Smite. All classes with different progression routes you can go through in game to get buffs, gear and different customisable stats. If someone doesn't have an exotic armour piece that everyone else is using then its a shame that Bungie has the worst RNG in history. Again, this isn't Halo and again, as I said before above "Certain exotics should be allowed, not all of them but definitely some of them". What I was saying was that anything with an obvious advantage would get banned from this playlist I'm talking about. In a game built around classes, you can't have barebones. This is talking about competitive Destiny, not competitive Halo. Look at COD and its 'competitive', I think its a load of crap but it has a massive competitive scene with sponsors and hundreds of teams and a lot of money in revenue and prize money. Something doesn't have to be Halo to be competitive and good. Just going to mute you now, sorry.
