Hi bungie, i know ur busy, so ill keep this as short as poss...
Me and my son are daily players and love nothing more than hunting down the forces of darkness to protect humanity! But to my son, Destiny is more than just a game, its an escape from the reality that is crohnes disease. He was diagnosed in september 2014 and has been very ill ever since, in and out of hospital and struggling to cope at times. Destiny makes him smile, those moments when that exotic you want drops from nightfall finally or xur has that helmet you wanted make his week and keep him going. To some this may seem daft, but the condition means he is unable to do the things he used to do, like football (soccer) and lazer quest a lot of the time and Destiny allows us to spend time together doing something we both really enjoy. We cant wait for HoW, its gonna be epic.
We were really looking forward to IB this week, but unfortunately crohnes has struck again, so were back in hospital and hes gonna miss out.
Ive been extremely lucky with exotics and raid rewards, but he hasnt been so much and at the moment he cant even get on for long enough to finish a run at Atheon or Crota. Hes feeling very low right now and its hard watching him go through it and i just want to do something to make him smile and maybe just maybe give him a bit of fight, something to look forward to...
I was wondering if it would be at all possible for you to hook him up with a little get well soon present? Im not asking for HoW gear or loads of armour and weapons, not looking for free t-shirts or anything like that, just something to cheer him up. He desperately wants a mythoclast (mythlocast?? I always say it wrong lol) and it would be the most amazing thing if you could do that for him. If thats not possible then take mine and give him that. As much as i love it now ive maxed it id rather see him smile again...
I know im asking a lot, but i hope you have the time to read this and respond. I wont post his gamertag here because of trolls but ill pm it to you guys if you would like to help. Sorry that was a bit long winded... and thanks for giving us such a great game.
Ps i kinda figure this is gonna get trolled, just so u know before u post, i dont care and wont be rising to this, id have done it via pm or email if id have known who to ask...

Ok so hes done pretty well so far, but still no vex lol one more etheric light tomorrow and hell be lvl 34 tho, so we can just run raids till he gets it and it should be quicker runs at the higher level. Will be starting to look for raiders again next week.

Bump. Come on Bungie. Have a heart.
-
Bump!

Hey I hope I'm not to late or anything but I am on Xbox 360 and I would be honoured to help I have done a few runs in the past but I still don't have it either and although I am in the UK and have some exams coming up I would still help you and your son and have another friend who would probably help out. If you're interested, just pm me. It Would Be An Honour To Fight By Your Side!

Thou shall not have thee Vex Mythoclast i have in thy possesion. Thou shall't grind on, thy Guardian, for thy Vex is locked of from thy collection til thy proves thyself worthy of it by thee lord and savior RNGsus.

Another update, ran vog hard again today and i bagged a second vex. Rngesus is kind to me but not the boy lol. Just another timebreaker for him. He has picked up some new crotas end bits this week tho, includin abyss defiant... theres always next week tho i guess...
-
Another update, after bagging a fatebringer for his collection, he managed to pick up oversouls edict and light of the abyss from the Crota raid. Hes really plsd :) we have a cp for Crota on hard which were gonna try to finish tonight, but if not then 3 in 1 week after everythin is great, hes really happy and has had a much needed boost as he goes into a week of exams. Ill let u all know what he bags next week :)

-
I'll give him my Mythoclasts, Honestly, this reminds me of the first Fate Of All Fools. I hope you're son can cope with his illness and I wish I had Xbox so I could play destiny with him. From me to you, a hopeful wish

Edited by daveg35: 5/9/2015 12:22:14 AMAre u on ps4? I would be willing to help. Dave-g35, (also try recruitment). Does he have any experience Edit. I just saw a response that u are on 360

Man this is touching and I'm sorry about the situation but I'm glad you guys have destiny. Im on xbone or I would love to play with you guys. Either way bump for some help and love from bungiee. PS, maybe try to get them to make a "real" mythoclast he can keep with him?
-
So i sat him down, explained what i had tried to do and that id had no response from bungie yet, but i had had a response from you guys, the destiny community. I then gave him my phone and told him to read. As he read he started to smile and before long he was laughing and is now sat eating the first solid food hes had for nearly a week! His exact words were "just reading its made me feel better." Hes very excited about the raids and he wants u all 2 know he really appreciates all the support, as do i. Thank you all so much. Bungie, if u read this, feel free to pm me but reguardless, be very proud of the destiny community and thankyou again for a brilliant game. :)

Edited by Spikey0417: 5/5/2015 7:52:37 AMBump! Keep fighting young guardian! What doesnt do yah in now will make you stronger! And from what ive read, this kid is tough as a galvanized 16 penny nail with all hes going/been through! I truly hope he gets that mythoclast and burst into a happy dance! 8) im on ps4 or i would totally run with you all!
-
I don't have a vex but would gladly give a gally or get back on my 360 to help
-
Just a question. Not trying to be rude, but did you post this after you read about the guy who had parts of his brain removed and got the fate of all fools?
-
My first question... If you have a vex, you clearly know how to get through the vault... Do you run him through it? That's how I helped my friends get a vex...
-
Were home!!! Im about to show him all the messages of support you guys have sent and tell him about the offers of raid assistance. Its not the get well gift i was looking for but u know what??? Its BETTER!!! I know hes gonna be chuffed with the support and when that mythoclast finally drops his face is gonna be a picture :) Thx to everyone who posted support, it will never be over, but its just great to have him home, he already wants to get straight bk onto IB to try 4 the helmet for his titan so its gonna be a busy evening lol. Ill be looking to add people for raiding starting tomorrow. Thx again guys!!!
-
Just a little update, he may be discharged today!!!! Were waiting on docs. Hes not better, theres no cure, but hes safe for now. Please pm me ur gamer tag if u wish to take part in raids to assist him, stating when u can do them (including ur timezone - were uk based) and i will add u soon. Lastly, bungie, if there is anyone who reads this, if theres any chance of sending him a little get well present then it would be really appreciated. Thx to everyone whos posted and supported us through this, i hope to see u on the battlefield :)
