Matchmaking.
It's 2015, on a console. There is zero excuse not to have matchmaking. Any argument used against matchmaking is via a vocal minority.

The only people matchmaking will work for is the no job gamers. Which honestly seems counter intuitive to how bungies been handling the game. Bungie has been trying to herd people into PvP and now their throwing a huge door that says "no one over the age of 20 beyond this point".

exactly , but i dont care anymore at this point , i lost hope with bungie , ill see what i can still enjoy and dont bother with the rest , all i currently play is nightfall and raids , had enough of everything else

I have zero friends I play with online. Mainly because I'm a 30something who works 40+hours a week and married. I get on Destiny at random times so I can't sync with other peoples schedules. So now I'm supposed to go to and lfg site ask a group of strangers which is still just as uncoordinated as a randomized team. Oh and now we're Mic'd. Now when we inevitably lose everyone can blame each other over mics. Great, the homophobia, racism, and sexism is going to be even worse than it already is in raids. If arena doesn't have matchmaking then #mindblown

I sympathize but again the design philosophy for Trails wouldn't work for matchmaking. That extra step of playing with a fireteam you put together is integral because its an endgame activity and more importantly determines how well you perform.

And when queue times are long because, like the raids, a small population use destinylfg sites, you will be wishing there was matchmaking to dish up targets for you.

I'm with you, I work 40+ hours a week on 3rd shift. So getting on when my friends are doesn't happen. Then add in that I'm still on previous gen console, that really removes my friends from the mix. So I'm screwed or I'm screwed. LFG or matchmaking will probably still yield the same result, but at least I could participate in the trials none the less.
