For either answer, explain why
Edit: nice to see a good discussion for both points of view, keep the conversation going! Bump this so Bungie can have some feed back before releasing the dlc.
Edit2: Also, Answer this: Do you think people will stop playing the ToO once they get all the armor/guns that you can get from it? Or will Bungie add weekly incentives (alike Iron Banner) to keep 'em playing?

So you play and get match made against a full team and you are 3 randoms. One of your members leaves the game resulting in a 3vs2 and you lose 1 or 2 rounds and the other guy bails on you leaving a 3vs1 situation.... Good luck.
-
I never knew so many people here don't have friends. Finding 2 others to play with isn't hard to do. Everyone just wants to be handed everything easy. People complained caused of the lack of content in the game and now that they come out with something new everyone complains.
-
It absolutely should have matchmaking. "Oh em gee just use el ef gee" - This is literally just manual matchmaking. It's the same concept. "Oh em gee just use forums lol" - See above. "Oh em gee no think about how bad the teams will be I will team up with my super awesome mlg pro friends" - You do that. Matchmaking won't stop you from making pre made teams. There's literally no downside to matchmaking but some people will continue to insist it's a bad thing.
-
Although I picked "don't", I'm not sure if I want matchmaking or not. Too many pros and cons.
-
Wow 50 50 exactly, I have never seen that on here.
-
For all those with fireteams who are disliking matchmaking, would it not make the trials easier for you when you are put up against a "matchmade" team rather than another fireteam?
-
This poll doesnt matter...just like the raid matchmaking requests/demands. Bungie sticks to there guns on this stuff
-
Edited by Exodus: 4/29/2015 7:59:34 PMYes, I want the option to go in solo and play with randoms once in a while when no one on my friend's list is online. Having matchmaking doesn't stop you from going in with your buddies.
-
So the argument against matchmaking is that the match made teams will be bad, have no mic, ect. If you have a group of friends you play with all the time why would you NOT want to go up against the match made groups?
-
I would rather be matched with players that don't care or are terrible then not be able to play at all. Most of my friends have little to no interest in PVP.
-
If they allowed matchmaking... People would just bitch that either they "always get paired up with shitty team mates" or "-blam!- the trials, it's just filled with try hard pre mades" Bungie can't win with the forums on this one. Anyone who understands pvp well understands that requiring 3 man teams is better for the overall more competitive nature of the trials
-
It's at 50/50. Wow. Screw matchmaking
-
Hell naw
-
Matchmaking would be a disaster.
-
I have friends who play video games, but they don't like Destiny, so I am the only one in my group that plays. So yes, I would want matchmaking because it would be easier to play than using LFG. I think its funny that they keep saying there isn't matchmaking because you need to be a tight group in order to beat the raid, and now the new content as well. I have beaten the raid numerous times, both cheesing and not, so it is possible. I assume the new Trials stuff will be the same way. I really think Bungie keeps saying this because there is too much work to add it now so it doesn't make sense, but will probably be added on the next game.
-
If people don't like MM just get your own group. Seriously, how does it affect people that already have a team besides probably giving them an easy win. I'd think they'd want it in rather then playing hardcore's all the time.
-
So if they put matchmaking for the trials there is going to be so many posts about being matched up with random who suck and about how they can't win cause they are not match made with good players.
-
If they make the voice chat to one channel then I would agree to matchmaking. Communication is key.
-
I think it should be an option. They said you can't have matchmaking in the Raid because it requires communication but that is basically what happens on LFG.net anyway. You just put your name out there and some random person invites you. Somehow all the random groups I have paired with have always managed to figure it out.
-
U would think randoms mean ez win for the hardcore who have a real team, no?
-
50/50?
-
I think optional matchmaking. If they could get that code to work. Matchmade team against matchmade team. A "scrub mode" where the non mlg tryhards can play and win and lose and get neat shtuff.
-
take a step back and look at why we cant have matchmaking with ToO. This will prevent people from getting matched up with someone who quits and costs you a loss. Or worse trolls who match into games, just to screw others over.
-
And why is there no matchmaking? In IB i constantly play agains teams of 6 and if there are 1-2 competent ppl in my team, we beat them ... Why would one choose not to include matchmaking?! Maybe because the noobs rage when teil team gets obliterated? But man, i like bungie and their announcements. So i can preorder the withcher now and get the preoder-bonus ;)
-
No matchmaking would actually make trials feel like an end game activity. Hard to obtain gear that casuals wouldn't have unless they chose to gather a decent Fireteam together. Who wants to play with randoms who don't communicate and don't stick in a group? Not hard what so ever to go on the forums and gather 3 people together..
-
Hell yes me and my friends play skirmish all the time with a fire team of 3 and we love playing against randomly matchmade groups, they better add it in
