For either answer, explain why
Edit: nice to see a good discussion for both points of view, keep the conversation going! Bump this so Bungie can have some feed back before releasing the dlc.
Edit2: Also, Answer this: Do you think people will stop playing the ToO once they get all the armor/guns that you can get from it? Or will Bungie add weekly incentives (alike Iron Banner) to keep 'em playing?
-
They should have it. 1. Just because there is matchmaking doesn't mean you can't form a team 2. People will still have an incentive to form outside MM since you will be at a disadvantage if you aren't communicating 3. If you and your pre-made go against a MM group, wouldn't you be happy about it? (I know I would) ----matchmaking hurts no one----
-
I don't want randoms who don't communicate, or go afk.
-
Question.... In my clan only two of us play crucible.. We're down by 1 man.. Can the 2 of us launch the activity? Just in case we don't find a 3rd man
-
There should be...it's PvP content so it should have matchmaking.
-
It's going to be 2 good people helping an ok friend. That's how I see it. I think it kind of sucks that the guns work like IB.
-
It should be an option for every single game mode in this game. I get that you might get matched up poorly but who cares, you have to realize that's a risk when you go into anything without a fireteam.
-
Every other activity in the game can be accessed solo or through matchmaking giving access to the entire vanilla destiny. This activity disallows entry to purchasers of vanilla destiny if they do not have a team excluding them from content. Matchmaking teams vs matchmaking teams and fireteam vs fireteam should be an option.

Edited by Cypher02xd: 4/29/2015 8:22:49 PMAbsolutely not. Have you tried playing iron banner against a group of six while you are matched with randoms? Its a slaughter, same principle. This is an end game activity, you don't have to participate but if you choose to you will need to make a team, which I am perfectly fine with. Edit: plus no one normal crucible even uses a Mic! Why would I trust these people to talk and communicate in an elimination challenge?!
-
Yes. If you don't want match making just make your own fire team. Best of both worlds.
-
Too much can go south with bad matchmaking, I hear people carp about it in the weekly all the time. Besides all the Egyptian stuff isn't all that, it's meh to me
-
I think it's good that there isn't matchmaking. There's plenty of ways to find other players. Between the forums here and other sites. Hell, probably even hanging out in the reef area, try recruiting like back in the beginning for raids. Honestly... i look at it like nightfalls and weekly heroics. Can I manage to do them by myself? Sure I suppose I could. But I enjoy it more when I wait till I have a few friends on and we go in together. Something that's supposed to be a challenge? I'd rather suffer or succeed with friends. And if you're waiting to find people on a forum, or waiting for friends to get on, go tune up in some regular crucible. It's really starting to get old hearing all the complaining the instant some new info comes out. Lol i mean really... let's give it a shot atleast before we start judging how it works.
-
I'm not carrying a team of sub par players glad there's no matchmaking.
top 1 % crucible Kd
-
This is a competitive game mode, if you don't have a fireteam you aren't competitive
-
Non-tournament skirmish is hard enough solo. They're saving you a huge headache by making the Trials without mm
-
I do, but it should be *** OPTIONAL *** Not eveyone has friends to jump into game with. I personally love match making for the weekly makes it a much easier task to complete. Last night it took longer to find a group than it did to down Omnibitch. All multi-player aspects of this game should have *** OPTIONAL *** matchmaking Hear that BUNGIE...... *** OPTIONAL ***

Edited by Iris: 4/29/2015 8:06:48 PMOk have fun getting destroyed by people who have pre-made teams.
-
I play skirmish with a couple friends from time to time and we love it when we are matched with a team of randoms! It makes things easy. If we get another team of three it's a match! Sometime we win sometimes it's close and sometimes we get murdered. But it's very very rare randoms even put up a fight That said even if they put matchmaking in for the trials I'd never use it. Skirmish now requires some team work if you want to win, especially against a team. The way trials is set up if you don't have good communication you won't last long! Any decent team of 3 will murder randoms especially in trials. Say I die and can't communicate where I am and where enemies are my teammates rush over to revive me only to meet a blade dancer= round over. Had it been my group then they could have communicated and at least stand a chance of getting me back up. Then consider players that quit! It's constant. If I try to run iron banner solo I end up in games that people quit because their team was losing and now I come in to a game I can't win. In the trials if one person quits your at a huge disadvantage. Even if your lucky enough to get another player I highly doubt it will happen fast enough to make a difference

Funny how many are missing the point of the 50-50 split. It isn't about being on the winning side of the survey. It is about the fact that those of us on the "I do" side feel slighted and may not by the DLC. "Sorry, although you paid the same money you can't play this because you are not a serious gamer". Really? You are reducing your market cap by half. Bungie could fix that with a relatively simple code update.
-
I do because it will be easier for my team to get wins against randoms. That would be awesome
-
Match made Teams would be demolished by Set teams
-
Wow. That's the first 50 50 I've seen on these forums
-
You idiots asking for matchmaking must not know that there's a website dedicated to helping you find a group...
-
Because video games is srs bsns >_>
-
For either answer, explain why
It would just make it easier for a team communicating to wreck kids who are just trying to play solo
-
I don't see how it would hurt anyone. If you can find a group great. If not your at a disadvantage
-
It's like skirmish. You go in with a team you have better communication and win. You go in without. No communication and you have to hope your team is good because everyone usually splits up.
