Thorn was fine. Perfectly balanced with style and power.
It was unique. And old timey feeling six shooter with all of the recoil and a reload speed only a mother could tolerate. But it packed a wallop, man was it fun to get kills with.
You people couldn't handle something so magnificent, so you buffed the soul right out of it.
Now it handles like any other hand cannon, 9 round magazine like its some modern semi-auto~ just with a DoT effect. It was supposed to be the opposite of Last Word, now it's just it's older brother.
I laugh at every "Thorn is OP" thread, you brought it upon yourselves.

The small mag size and reload speed was a fair trade off for the DoT, IMO. Thorn was perfectly fine, and it wasn't overused. It was hardly used, in fact.
-
I felt like a freak cleaning house with it back then
-
Saddest part is that the people who whined for a nerf probably never used it. Like you said; it was perfectly fine. Way back then, I said to myself all it needed was a small buff; slightly bigger clip OR reload speed increased. Not both or more, just one or the other. But no. Bungie listened to the people who clearly didn't use it and turned it into a LTW clone :/
-
Last the Word?
-
Yeh, it's a Last Word clone now. Best TLW users rapid fire those head shots for hell quick kills. Most just fire like crazy (myself included :D). Thorn is now the same thing. Just fire rapidly in the general direction of their head and hope for the best. Hardly any aiming required :/

All the PvE players whine about how PvP players complain and ruin things for them. Somehow PvE players don't see they had a part in creating the (2nd) most over-powered crucible weapon, the scout rifle, Thorn, we know today.

Aaah, those were the Days.
-
I miss the old tell tale sign of thorn... That thwap noise every few seconds.... Now it just sounds like a scout rifle... Thwap thwap thwap....
-
OMG this is a brilliant observation. How did I not notice this before.
-
They also brought shotgun fest on themselves by whining about fusions
-
This guy gets it. Hand cannons should reward getting headshots instead of just spraying people with bullets. Slow rate of fire and the impact of a freight train is what I look for in hand cannons.
-
And if they do spray bullets it comes with Low damage but fast reload.
-
The last word has a high damage output and a fast rate of fire that why it is so deadly in the crucible.
-
Exotics break the rules that other guns are supposed to follow, the only way to use The last word to its full potential is to use hip-fire. Though right now there has been word of a bug that counts aimed shots as hip-fire for a few seconds.
-
I remember a guy posting about the bug way way back before xûr even sold it but not many had it then so it wasn't made a big issue of.
-
A bug? That explains alot. Sometimes it would kill me faster than usual.
