If anyone ever hunted the blades of crota before bungie removed them from patrol on earth/moon then that was the practice

They have not been removed. And they are never going to remove them.

they dont spawn randomly in patrol was what i was getting at

They spawn every 10-15 minutes

Post patch 1.1.2 they don't spawn anymore. You can still do it on fist of crota, that's how i learnt it and that's how i though it to a couple of my friends. However they still don't want to touch the sword at crota.........cowards!!!!!
