Well I am a girl. A rubbish one (there are plenty of good ones out there I hasten to add). I have never done a Raid or Nightfall due to not being brave enough to get on the headset so am stuck in the perpetual twilight of level 30/31. Then I did a ROC strike the other night, mostly on my own as the others dropped out and in came Matthew from Basingstoke. We got through it and friend requests exchanged he hauled me through most of a nightfall tonight until I let him down at the end. But I will dig out the headset and we will have another go.
So another little piece of Destiny has been opened up to me. Thank you Matthew for your patience and good humour and for looking after a noob girlie who just maybe might try a Raid one day.
Edit: Thanks to everyone for the positive response. I am on PS4 so will summon the courage to get on the headset and try a Raid. Thanks to everyone again and good luck to anyone who, like me, wants to get into the end game stuff but just hasn't been able for whatever reason.

Edited by NM Gunslinger: 4/27/2015 12:20:19 AMPeople shouldn't judge other players based on skill (or gender). It really pisses me off when people get left out of the curve because they aren't as 'good' as other people. Video games are for entertainment, so it shouldn't matter if you are good or 'bad' at the game. There was a time when I was afraid to raid because I was afraid that I wouldn't be good enough. I never used the mic because my voice is crappy (I'm a 17 year old guy, so voice cracks galore...), and hadn't been able to experience the truly fun parts of Destiny. Well, about a month ago, I finally found a group willing to take me through the raids and teach me what to do. I had a great time, and made some good friends! I dodn't enjoy Crota's End (it was literally just a matter of surviving 50 waves of thralls), but Vault of Glass was great! It was a truly uniwue experience, unlike anything else I had seen in the game, and I feel bad for the people who can't experience that. If you want (and are on PS4, that is), send me a friend request. My username is Xenn2423, and I'd be more than happy to run roc strikes and raids with you. My raid schedule is a bit tight (I can only run them between midnight and 2:00 am Pacific Time Monday-Wednesday), but I can almost always run strikes when I'm on. This doesn't apply to the OP alone, if any of you, guy, girl, young, old, or anything really, need a friend to run strikes with, add me. I have many friends that have a hard time playing, and I love helping them through strikes. If you run with me, don't be afraid of your mic. I will never judge you based on your voice. I've run with 11 year olds and 40 year olds alike. As long as you are a friendly person, we will get along just fine. Hopefully you can find some cool people to run with. Overall, my point is this: Don't ever feel bad about yourself. You are most likely a good person, and even if the assholes on the internet don't like you, there will always be someone willing to help. Just have fun playing your game, like they intended for you to do.
