So most of you are aware that the MIDA has a hidden perk (high caliber rounds) that was added by Bungie before the dark below in a patch. This perk exists before being upgraded at all, and it's very clear that this gun tosses enemies around more than others. But I'm here to posit that that's not the only hidden perk this gun has!
I have 2 fully upgraded MIDAs and I just bought my third to run some tests with a non upgraded gun, and here are the hidden perks I believe this gun has...
Single Point Sling: switch weapons faster, move quicker while aiming
Even without the MIDA perk upgrade, (which boosts your overall movement speed) this gun still allows you to move quicker while aiming than other guns do. Also, switching back and forth between weapons is much faster than normal. You can try it for yourself!
Quickdraw: this weapon can be drawn unbelievably fast
Interestingly enough, the MIDA actually has QuickDraw in the upgrade tree, so this one might be not be real. But I have noticed that even without the QuickDraw perk turned on, the MIDA still draws ridiculously fast! And even when I do turn the perk on, I don't notice a difference at all, so I still believe QuickDraw may be built into the gun.
Snapshot: aiming down sights is incredibly fast
Ever notice how quick you ADS with the MIDA? It's absurd. I use Another NitC when I run my Gjallarhorn loadout for raids, and I use the snapshot perk on that, and it still doesn't ADS as fast as the MIDA. Yet the MIDA doesn't have the snapshot perk listed... That's odd don't you think?
Flared Magwell: reload this weapon even faster
This one almost doesn't count because the MIDA already has a maxed reload, but I haven't seen a weapon before that maxes out the reload with the flared magwell perk. Plus when you do select flared magwell, it actually brings up the reload speed on the stat bar, so I still consider this a "hidden" perk even though it's built into the stat bar.
These are the only named perks I've found, but there's some other odd parts about the MIDA. Has anyone noticed that the MIDA has suspiciously strong target acquisition? It's not listed in any of the "sight mods", but I definitely feel that the MIDA has a hunger for headshots. It's almost difficult to not hit precisions with that weapon lol I have a 72% precision kill rate with the MIDA at around 15k kills. That's insane! It also seems easier to hit precisions from hip fire, which leads me to believe that it also has the hip fire perk (added accuracy while firing from the hip). I'm also suspicious that it may have the kneepads perk too (longer slide distance) but I haven't tested that at all yet.
So what do you guys think? Have you noticed similar things? I think this would give an all new meaning to the whole "multi-tool" facet of the weapon. The cool thing is, these aren't your usual desired perks like zen moment or headseeker or explosive rounds. These are just subtle, minor handling perks that we don't usually notice, but to me that's what makes the MIDA such a joy to play with. It has loads of handling mods, and the weapon just feels so glorious in your hands. Add the MIDA perk to increase movement speed, and the entire feel of your character has changed. Let me know your thoughts, I'd love to hear them.

Happy hunting guardians.

Edit: many have brought of the hidden stats from this website: http://planetdestiny.com/mida-multitool/
I think this holds a lot of merit. That would explain all of the handling "perks" the gun seems to have (snapshot, QuickDraw, single point sling). The MIDA is incredibly high in "aim assist" and maxed in the "equip speed" stat.

You left out one of the perks the gun has, which is the stagger. I have over 36K kills with the Mida alone with a 43% precision rate. This scout rifle is one of the best exotics, in the game and a true multi use tool. From up close hip fires to long range take downs, it covers the gambit. With three in my arsenal it is my most used weapon in the game.

CHEMTRAILS!!!

I nearly bought this Weapon, but in a chance of luck I got an Ice Breaker. Did I do wrong, should I have got the Mida anyway, and thought sod it for the Ice Breaker.

Edited by BeyondReasonn: 4/27/2015 11:36:59 AMOn the single point sling, that may be because it boosts your overall movement speed. You may also have been wearing radiant dance machines when you test them. For QuickDraw, make sure you were not running the blade dancer perk that helps with it. And make sure you are not running the slide perk aswell. Just wanted to make sure you didn't have those on when you tested :D

The little radar on the left side of the weapon points to your next checkpoint.

Whenever I get the Headshot bounty I reach for Mida or Hawkmoon

I love the sound.

It will also help you pick up chicks and nail that job interview.

It sounds like an air soft gun

I believe agility plays into how fast you switch weapons, draw and reload. Since the mida, gives you extra agility, the overall speed of these items probably depends on what agility settings you have selected in your characters skill tree. Just a thought, I could be wrong.

Hence the name "Multitool"

The movement speed boosts are barely noticeable to me.

Edited by Level 2 on Easy: 4/27/2015 12:27:58 PMI agree with OP. I kinda figured all these were hidden perks. MIDA is practically the best primary exotic PvE speaking. Everything about it is just amazing. me and a friend were on the MIDA topic a few days ago. How badass would this thing be if it was a LITERAL multi-tool. example: a perk allows the tool to be re-constructed into a shotgun or a sniper rifle to use in your secondary slot. Anyone ever played "Star Wars Republic Commando" on the original Xbox? If so, remember the DC-17 rifle how it could reconstruct into a sniper, grenade launcher, shotgun and auto-rifle? How badass would it be if the multi-tool could be a 4-in-1 weapon? benji pls considr

my vanquisher 8 was a drop so had random perks and I have the flared magwell on that which puts its reload full, then I have when the mag is empty it reloads even faster, don't think ive ever seen a weapon reload as fast on the game :D
-
Just because it has really good stats in a lot of categories does not mean they are "hidden perks".

I thought you were going to talk about the MIDA terrorist group that took over Mars for three months before they were brought down by the United Earth Government in Bungie's 1994 game titled Marathon.
