Too true.
It seems the days of finished games bring released is over.
According to stats, Destiny has 9.5 million registered users, at $60 a piece, thats $570,000,000 in gross sales. If even 40% bought TDB thats another $5.7 million.
Their 10 year plan is already covered. The dlc's are only a way to keep servers and players active, and keep the cash flow coming.
Theres no reason why Destiny isn't what was originally advertised, much larger, and more complex. Not to mention larger and more frequent content updates. This business model is becoming all too common, and can be expected from certain publishers.
I for one will be avoiding games by these publishers in the future, and never pre-ordering games or dlc again.
That is after all the only way gamers can have some impact on the industry. You can never get a boycott against a game or company, despite the push by some...vocal minorities on the forums.
Then again, people love riding the bandwagon, and favoring mediocrity.
Its all about the "new and shiny".
It's all about that "if you are looking to make a profit" statement.
The industry cannot survive if it cannot show that a profit can be made through the industry.
