so what are we 100,000 people playing for? Why do we play the same EXACT CROTA and VOG raids week in and week out? because we like it? or because we are hoping for that exotic weapon, or exotic armor, or legendary, or coins, etc? we want the drops!
would I rather run Crota hard with my 32 Warlock or 31 Hunter? well I have to run it with my 31 Hunter because I need the Crota chest piece. oh wait, twinkii has that chest piece and will give it to me for 3 motes? cool! now I don't have to run crota! oh wait I need radiant shards to upgrade it? no problem! twinkii will give me the 21 shards I need for one of my two Vex Mythoclasts. sure!

yeah but you understand what I'm saying right? I must run the Fist of Crota mission 300 times a week. no exaggeration! why? to do countless bounties to grind XP to level stuff up. I juts got my SGA last saturday. Xur did not have machine gun telemetry, and I did not have any left. it took me the better part of this wek to level it up. now why would I do that, when I can just trade my second FULY UPGRADED Fatebringer to you for your fully upgraded SGA? It took me 3 months to get Fatebringer. with trading I can get it instantly. It's like all thes epeople saying Cur should sell G-horn. ABSOLUTELY NOT!! If you have everythign in life, what's there to look forward to?

I can see what you're saying but I think you'll find a large majority of players who would play anyways.

yeah but for what? I mean seriously, who can play a game for 7 months straight? I certainly never have before. granted I came into this game in December, but still - 4 months? If I last a month with a game it's a lot normally. I have friends who are day 1 players that are still grinding raids and ROC strikes trying to get G-horn and Thunderlord. If trading was in place since day 1, they could have had those by Christmas, had them levelled up in January. would they still be playing the SAME raids and the SAME weeklies week in and week out for the past 13 weeks if they had everything? Believe me, I was TICKED off when it took me 3 months to get FB and my buddy got it on his first attempt. but that is why we keep coming back! for the thrill of maybe THIS is the Templar fight where I get my FB! THIS is the ROC strike where that legendary engram turns into a G-horn (happened for me!) Trading would ruin that whole experience.
