I've read the passage before. If a man lieth with another man etc etc. But... Doesn't the Bible also say to love your neighbors and not to judge others? Why are those parts do the Bible getting ignored?
I'm not saying that we shouldn't judge criminals, who hurt or steal from people. But, gays aren't harming anyone. They just want to lead the life they choose.
I'm not saying that churches have to officiate gay weddings, or that YOU have to attend your friend's gay wedding. That's your choice. But, a business in a free market should not be allowed to discriminate based on someone's lifestyle choice.
Why are those parts do the Bible getting ignored?
Because those parts don't allow them to hate other people for pointless reasons.

1 ReplyEdited by whom up ? clicc like: 4/24/2015 3:11:56 AMI love how religious people pick and choose what parts of the bible they follow and others they don't. Pathetic.

1 ReplyEdited by Stalwart: 4/24/2015 3:14:52 AMFeeding a gay family isn't an immoral thing to do. It's a decent thing to do. However, in regards to catering for gay marriages, printing gay T shirts, etc, doing so would suggest support or even create support for something you don't support, so why should a person be forced to do so?

Why is it wrong? Because the bible says so in Leviticus 18:22? Here's my favorite quote on the subject for all of the Bible thumping cherry pickers: " I wanted to ask you a couple of questions while I had you here. I'm interested in selling my youngest daughter into slavery as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. She's a Georgetown sophomore, speaks fluent Italian, always cleared the table when it was her turn. What would a good price for her be? While thinking about that, can I ask another? My Chief of Staff Leo McGarry insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly says he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or is it okay to call the police? Here's one that's really important 'cause we've got a lot of sports fans in this town: Touching the skin of a dead pig makes one unclean. Leviticus 11:7. If they promise to wear gloves, can the Washington Redskins still play football? Can Notre Dame? Can West Point? Does the whole town really have to be together to stone my brother John for planting different crops side by side? Can I burn my mother in a small family gathering for wearing garments made from two different threads?"

10 RepliesPlease note that the Bible isn't always right. The Book of Genesis was somewhat disproven by the big bang and evolution, and many of the sins written in the Bible were just socially unacceptable acts at the time.

2 RepliesPerfect example of people ignoring the parts of the bible they dont like.

Edited by A BIG COWPIE: 4/24/2015 6:11:21 PMIf you're part of a larger chain you serve who the business leaders say, but if you own the business you should be free to serve what you want and who you want. As far as I know the only issue has been catering or somehow serving gay weddings. I don't see a problem with turning that down. But if a gay person comes in and asks to be served but gets turned away for being gay, then the business owner stepped over a line.

This post is a sin.

1 ReplyThere us 2 lines in this whole debate. One, we shouldn't be able to discriminate against someone's sexual orientation. Two, we shouldn't be able to tell someone who is religious what they can and cannot do.

15 RepliesI wouldn't skip this important part at the end "....they have committed a detestable act. They shall surely be put to death" -Leviticus 20:13. Not only is homosexuality forbidden, but the loving God's punishment for this is death. It's examples like this that lead rational people to suspect that it may be more likely that instead of containing divine teachings, this book was written by bronze-aged farmers with no knowledge of right or wrong. Don't forget that this was a time in which supernatural claims were as common then as fast food restaurants are common now. For those of you who are christian, I want you to ask yourself what is more likely: A:A supernatural, all powerful being does in fact exist. This being just happens to be the exact one that is popular where you were born, and also luckily is the one portrayed by your exact demomination. Who works to ensure that his existence isn't proven, and whose plan is to leave the proof of his existence to vague hints and subjective experiences. This being not only is responsible for the creation of the entire universe just for our specific species on earth, but he even cares what you eat and who you sleep with. Not only that, but decided to provide both the absolute proof of his existence in a time when supernatural claims were already common and numerous. And also bestow his perfect unchanging word to a bunch of illiterate peasants in the form of divine messages to be passed around for 50+ years. Then finally written down by people who weren't witnessed, in a language that would soon become dead and require translation and reinterpretation. The final result of this divinely inspired code for all to follow included teachings of who can be enslaved and for how much, the command to stone homosexuals and unruly children, and numerous reminders that women are inferior to men. Or..... B. a group of people ignorant of the world made a mistake 2000 years ago.

You know what else they say "Jesus died for your sins" So if you do not sin then Jesus died for no reason
-
Being gay is not a sin. Gay sex is considered the sin

what's the bible?

Homosexuality is unnatural, and thus sinful. Like flying in an airplane, and driving a car, and using currency, and communicating electronically, and...
satire, obviously
Edited by gabethekid7: 4/24/2015 6:38:27 AMThere is also another part where it says to judge others as to say what's wrong. Not judging on saying where they are going. Heaven or Hell. We shouldn't be rude to gays but (this is my opinion) ppl should have the right to do that if ppl like that or not.

6 RepliesYes a business should be allowed to deny a wedding cake for a gay wedding. Freedom of religion boyz
-
7 RepliesIf being gay is a sin why did God create somebody who's gay? Makes no sense -_- I'll tell you why it makes no sense... God isn't real people.

3 RepliesThey aren't getting ignored ... I don't ignore them ... I personally think that homosexuality is a sin but so is lying and sometimes I lie ... Other people may not believe what believe but we can all agree that it's better not to be a hateful person
-
2 RepliesYou could be a baker, and deny service to a gay couple that wants a wedding cake, but if you aren't a dick about it, and don't try to offend them, it isn't bad. You could have nothing against them personally, but you still don't have to condone their life choices.
-
Some religious people who are bigoted like to pick and choose what they follow in the bible. They hate gay people, yet they lie, cheat, steal, miss church, don't confess and do many other sinful things. I'm not religious and see nothing wrong with religion. I just don't like when it leads to beliefs of being better than others.
-
Dude the bible is a glorified #offtopic it was written by people to be argued by people to be manipulated by people.
-
14 RepliesSee that's exactly what I've been trying to say, but nobody listens. We don't have to say that being gay is moral, but I can guarantee you that Jesus would have made a wedding cake for a gay couple.
-
4 RepliesIts a private business. If a business only wants to serve people with shirt and shoes, they can. If they don't want to allow firearms in thier business, they can. If they do not want to serve someone because of religion, they can. If you don't agree with it, don't go there
-
If a business owner doesn't want to serve gays that's his choice. Its his business. I wouldn't refuse service to gays personally even though I disagree with their lifestyle because to me they are people just like everyone else. But I do support other peoples decision based on their convictions.
