I believe that bungie needs to go back on the critical hit ratio nerf they had done awhile back... Ever since they had lowered that with auto rifles, things went downhill fast... It would encourage people to aim for head shots again. Hard light, for example these days does 16 to the body and 19 to the head with its beginning ballistics ( I use aggressive ballistics which bumps it up in impact alil). Otherwise, with the headshot multiplier restored it may go back up 2-3 points of damage and becoming at least alil more sustainable... For example, why use a low damage auto rifle when you can use the (full auto) pulse rifle Oversoul Edict that shoots so fast that it feels like an auto rifle but has a much better damage output thanks to its buff to pulse rifles? I love my Bad juju, I was using it for two months prior to the pulse rifle buff even being mentioned... And when the update hit I had two fully upgraded BJ's (ha!) and people were barely pulling out their dusty ones out of their vaults to replicate the ownage I had done to them... Bungie didn't balance anything by lowering Auto rifles again... They simply swapped the problem... I can honestly say that Auto rifles could possibly go back to their original performance from game release now with little hate, due to the other primaries being buffed over time. Auto rifles deserve a buff and need to be removed from the table as a potential target for follow up nerfs. After that, Bungie just needs to leave them the -blam!- alone... Thank you for reading, and please leave a comment for me to reply to on your thoughts. :)
Edit #1: As Bungie had stated in the news wire they had a bunch of revamping and weapon balancing amongst other things to take care of up to the release of the Taken King DLC, which if I might add, looks very promising. Hopefully Bungie will keep to their word and balance out the weapons over time until the Taken King DLC comes out (hopefully including an Auto rifle buff somewhere down the road). I hope that everyone that is in support of this post will continue to bump and support it until the buff to auto rifles is done. We can almost be sure that the balancing update they've spoken of will involve an Auto rifle buff. So please everyone, if you agree with this post, vote accordingly and leave a comment. We're so close to getting what we want and what auto rifles deserve... Thank you. :)
Edit #2: We have finally been heard by Bungie! Thanks to everyone for your support and I hope that you look for my name when on the Feedback forum again once we finally get the balances applied for any other concerns!!! And again, thank you ALL!!! :)

I have adapted to the new stats and while the auto rifle is a shadow of what it was, in PVE it just takes more time to kill the enemies. In PVP I'm normally reduced to hit and run attacks. If I stay and try to defeat the guardian then I run a high chance of dying first. The auto rifle needs more damage to become competitive in the Crucible and Iron Banner PVP.

At this point they might as well be called 'assist-dispensers'

Hope bungie reads this

I tried the vindicator auto rifle in pvp and MY GOD THEY REALLY DID ASS RAM AUTO RIFLES! I was not even close before the patch... Monte carlo shoots faster with 20 critical dmg (with aggressive ballistics) While Vindicator does 19 and shoots slower... WTF IS THIS SHIT!?

Major Bump. I am so sad that auto rifles are in this sorry state now. It is completely unbalanced comparing all weapons. That being said, I am sure Bungie are on to it.

Bump. I used love sporting my Up For Anything... I like my over soul edict and vision of confluence, but still miss my ARs

So the payback SOS can hit me across the map ? If suros can match the range of my scout rifle why have any other guns on the game besides autorifles? Auto rifles are fine.
