Calm down about the Raid! Raid files were installed with 1.1.2!!!
Many of us have been telling many of you to have patience and wait and see.
Just today, the data files from yesterday's update were mined.
TWO social spaces are coming in HOW: Queen's Bay and Halls of Amentet
Arena
Trials of Osiris
Strikes, Story Missions, Quests
46 new ships including an EXOTIC ship.
New PVP maps and game modes
And so much mysterious data including ::::::
- [b]"The House of Wolves" [/b] - "[i]Join Petra Venj and her allies in the Reef. Hunt the Fallen House of Wolves and their notorious Kell, Skolas, the Betrayer. Your reward? Glory… and treasures beyond imagination."[/i]
- Mercury will be a selectable location; this is how Halls of Amentet will be accessed.
- Bungie keeps poking around the data for Treasure Maps, but all the data's still broken
- There's some broken data about destination_faction_rasputin0 and "destination_crypto

Pay particular attention to that first mystery bit:

This is hands down a raid description. Other data miners are saying the same.
So yesterday's update popped in the base for a raid. And it's named the same as this expansion pack.
I GUARANTEE you Bungie has more up their sleeves than what they're telling us.
[b]Just as important: there's that mysterious May 8th date that will be revealing something we don't even know about yet.[/b]
What do you think Guardians??? I'm getting a little excited putting it all together.
Even if it's a raid that's coming a little after HOW drops, that's totally fine by me. That's how VOG worked, dropping a few weeks after Destiny's launch.

4 RepliesHold on. If "raid" files truly were installed and comet will be a totally separate disc purchase then..... there must be a raid before comet. Otherwise those files would only be on comet right?... anybody?

This would make sense Release the dlc with the story missions, strike and the arena. A few weeks later release the trials of osiris Then a month after that release the raid then another month later release hard mode. If that's how it is going to be its a -blam!-ed up way of telling us.

We are active and quick to give support to new members. All new members will be taken through a raid to get Flawless Raider and the Raiding Party achievements. Some minor joining requirements: - 17yr+ - raid experienced - at least one lvl 31 character - no scrubs ;) If you wanna meet me or an admin before joining feel free to msg me and we can get acquainted over some strikes or somethen.

3 RepliesThis is my guess. There will be no raid between HoW and comet. The only end game activities that release the highest light level gear will be PoE, the Arena, and the Iron Banner. I think they will release the "raid" gear through the Arena that was leaked a couple of months ago. If I had to guess, even though there is no raid, we'll be fighting some sort of boss at the end of the arena equivalent or similar to raid bosses. (There's no way it'd end with your final kill being Hank or Randal).

Clearly, Petra Venj is the equivilent of Eris Morn for the new DLC. She's just the rep inside the Tower so she'll be the one giving you each of the three "story" missions. This is how Bungie can manipulate players into thinking that they are "joining" her for the adventure. There is no raid. [b]Correction:[/b] There is a raid but Bungie's putting a $60 pay-wall up against it so they don't have to put as much work into "Comet."

2 Repliesthe ONLY thing i'm disappointed about is the extensive wait that bungie is implementing... other than that i wholeheartedly believe that everything will be worth the wait. if we don't get a raid at first, bungie completely knows that they better have something that will suffice for the time being. after release, and first dlc release, they are being looked at with a microscope/fine toothed comb. i'm excited to see what they have up their sleeves...

13 RepliesI disagree. "The House of Wolves" text you point to as a raid description reads to me like a general description for the entire expansion. Plus the House of Wolves raid would not be called "House of Wolves". It would have a specific name like the Dark Below raid, Crota's End. I would imagine that the "popped in the base for a raid" is just the Prison of Elders occupying file location normally allocated to raid data. It makes sense that Bungie would use that space for something. Finally (and most tellingly imo), the Bungie update from Urk clearly states "House of Wolves will not have a Raid activity." Nothing vague about that.
