I saw some guy that said 60 wasn't enough, which I thought was bull. I'm not sure, really. I wanna say 15 or 20, since that's about what I have, but I think I got good at VoG before my 5th completion.
Note that I don't think I'm an expert, per say; I'm just good.
Edit: So many replies! This is great! My battery is faring well, so comment as much as you want!

3 RepliesIn VoG: 1. Do you go left, middle, or right to defend the sync plates? 2. Drop down through the Trail of Kabar? 3. Defend the left side, middle, or right side of the Confluxes? 4. Do you wipe to kill Oracles so you can spawn up top? (hard mode) 5. Do you pick up the relic when it's time for the Templar? 6. Do you follow or lead at the Gorgons Labyrinth? 7. Can you do the jumping maze without dying? 8. Can you solo either Mars or Venus after killing the Gatekeeper? 9. Do you pick up relic when teleported? Once answered, YOU will know if you're expert.

I would say about 10-15 HARD raids... Noticed a few people saying ... When you have solo'd it... Disagree !. I have a few friends that do very well on our raids but yet to solo.. Think if you have the weapons & good handful of hard raids completed then there's NO REASON WHY Crota cant be done in 30 min's & VOG 30-40... Just my opinion ;-)
-
I think most know what to do on there 5th+ raid and already helps a lot. I think 15 full raids are enough to master it.
-
I think I have done 5 or 6 of crotas end and vault of glass. So technically I'm a "noob" however I have already 2 manned crotas end and ran sword on crota and relic on templar. Some players just get good at a game faster

4 Replieswhen u can solo or 2man any raid pretty much shows that u can carry anyone for example crota for me is a joke its all I do I can run entire hard mode solo just gota learn the little tricks to the raids and u wont have a problem at all lamps u can cheese bridge u can fly across sit on a ledge or building and cheese it shreaker hallway kill it run away kill other run away u wont die then just jump through the thrall death singer this ones a little more skill my way requires a ghorn walk in shoot wizard they come out ghorn them 3-4x then shoot the shrieker and do the same on the other side. crota obviously heavy ammy glitch don't kill 1 knight and enrage timer never starts 1 solo grenade +2ghorns and rb sword brings down crota +damages him

4 RepliesWhen you stop dying. That's when you've become an expert. Let me tell you, at this point. No 32 (or 31 for that matter) should be dying in either raid. You just shouldn't. You know what's coming, use some forethought and avoid death. It's annoying to shoot the over soul because you can't get your stuff together. So please, tighten up the execution before you enter Dirty Dan's fireteam.

Once you can solo it.

Theres no set number cause people learn and progress at different speeds. Since theres multiple positions to learn to play and different strategies you should have played each raid 15 times or so before you can say ur OP, and thats if you're good at all positions and strats.

Never enough

1 ReplyVog? You need at least 10 hard mode runs, be able to solo each gatekeeper, run relic in Templar (legit). Do oracles at least once in hard mode with everybody staying down. Carry relic on both portals at Atheon. When you can do all that and not be the one causing wipes, you are an expert. Ce takes like 1 time running sword and once doing the bridge legit. After that you are golden because that raids a joke.

If your me, just 2

Once you beat a raid you become a expert. How many you have to do to become a master is the real question

2 or 3. Super easy to memorize. I had the VoG down after my second go. Crotas end was memorized the first time. Still use the same tactics I used the first time I did both.

60 is enough.

4 RepliesTo me, an expert is someone with relic experience and the best equipment for the specific raid. For VoG hard, IMO 5-7 full fresh completion makes you a competent VoG raider. 10+ fresh with best oracle weapons (Pretorian foil , SGA, AE..etc) makes you an elder. A true expert is someone who has all the above and can explain the finer workings of the raid to a raid virgin clearly and concisely ...

To be experienced id say 3 to be an expert be able to teach and not die at any of the parts. Expert isnt determined by number of times you do it its how well you know something. You can do something 100+ times but that wont make you an expert

4 RepliesEdited by My Crayonz: 4/13/2015 9:32:13 PMAs many as me When you can take a group of 5 others through and teach them EVERY mechanic of EVERY section, you are an expert.

Simple complete all parts of a raid without dying (no wipes either) You can be very good at a raid but an expert well that's a lot different.
-
3 RepliesIt depends on how smart you are. I have completed five raids total and know them better than my friend who has played since release.
-
4-5 if you understand them

Edited by PatPharm: 4/13/2015 9:34:31 PMFirst time raiding, ever: 15-20 successful completions First time in a new raid: 10-12 successful completions Replaying raid with a new strategy: 5-6 successful completions I think this applies to any set off circumstances, LFG, randoms from the tower, anytime you're playing with a mostly entirely new raid group. If you are lucky enough to have a stable set of raid buddies with whom you play regularly, you can cut those numbers in half Edit: this is for "expert" level status - you should be learning from every wipe and getting comfortable/competent within the first few completions or even just attempts

Edited by vincam83: 4/13/2015 9:34:57 PMDepends. If your learning it step by step with the same group only a couple kills in. You already learned all the ins and outs with all the wiping. If you join and everyone else knows what's going on and you do the 1 job they give you it's gonna take a lot more. It also depends on the person. There is this one guy I ran VoG with tons of times. He has to go to orbit for the gorgon and jump part every time because he can't double jump. I don't know how he got to 20 without being able to hit his jump button twice, but he literally can't do it.

1 ReplyI'd say more than 10 without cheesing it, with cheesing probably more like 30-40
