I'm a huge fan of Halo, but part of Halo's charm is that you can't really relate to the characters. I'd also argue that the quality in video games, cinema and T.V is increasing, along side cynicism in the average consumer. Your comment on Marty's work and Halo being good, I agree with.

  • If you think quality is increasing you must be locked up watching the same movie and TV or video game over and over again

At no point had there ever been a T.V series to the standards of Game of Thrones, House of Cards, The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, American Horror Story, It's Always Sunny, or Brooklyn Nine-Nine until now. And if you think that the likes of Dragon Age, Far Cry 4, Ori, Dying Light, Rayman, Diablo, SMITE, Sunset Overdrive, Forza: Horizon, Killer Instinct, Tomb Raider, Bloodborne, Mortal Kombat X, MGS V, The Witcher, and so on are indicative of a decline in video game quality, then I don't know what to tell you. The gaming culture is funny, in that gamers enjoy tearing games to pieces more than they do actually playing them. What most consider to be disappointing -- Watchdogs, Assassin's Creed, Battlefield, Titanfall, Evolve, GTA V -- would be considered as the second coming of Jesus five or more years ago, or are undoubtedly better evolutions of their predecessors. The most prevalent issues are poorly tested and poorly optimised games which gamers will condemn at the first sight of controversy -- the best examples are AC Unity, BF4 and TMCC. Yes, quite a few AAA games clearly had technical issues during 2014, but to say that the overall quality of games is dropping is a farce; quality and complexity (story, gameplay, graphics, scale, A.I) are increasing, giving way to more technical issues. The only truly bad major games of this generation so far (that I can recall) would be Destiny and The Order.

  • How can you not think quality is increasing? Look at shows like Breaking Bad, Flash, Daredevil and movies like Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy.

  • I'm sure there was a similar % of crap earlier on. Media like TV, games, and movies are a lot more popular now and we hear a lot more about them. I can't think of an example of something that was of better quality than what we have now excluding the bad apples like Sonic Boom for Wii U lol.

  • Johnson I felt was relatable. Both Keyes. Though more so Miranda. The Arbiter had some pretty damn human moments even.
