If VOG was a simulation then we wouldn't be able to take guns and gear out. Fatebringer and the mythoclast for example would only exist in the vault. Now the entire game being a simulation is somthing worth discussion. Endless repetition, weekly reset, same missions, same goals. All with slightly different modifiers to test us. Makes u think

  • As like others, you are assuming the Vex simulations are like every other simulation in science fiction. We know next-to-nothing about them, the Vex technology may have found a way to do it. Perhaps Kabr's "glitch" in the system forced it to occur somehow.

  • I'm talking of simulations by the definition of the word. The vault may be a testing ground for the larger simulation. But that would be a sim in a sim and pointless. A simulation would only be run to test something and would have a purpose. If the vog was a vex simulation we could never win

  • What if after you complete the vault you are still in the simulation?what if everything after you encountered the vex is a simulation? This could explain why there is no visible change in the vex or the traveler after the final mission.

  • This theory has some basis in the Dr. Shim Grimoire cards where they realize they may just be a simulation in the mind of the captured vex. If we know that to be true as it pertains to Destiny, then why can't the OPs theory also be true.

  • Nothing has been explained in the story. It is very open to interpretation and that's how I like it. Op could be spot on. What we may find is that bungie are listening to our theory's and can pick chose and edit the story as they see fit. Op's post may have already altered bungies simulation...

  • I already talked about Kabr, he's what allows victories in the Vault of Glass. He sacrificed himself to create the Relic, which is what allows Guardians to succeed. This could be interpreted as a glitch in the system.

  • The fact is, we know little to nothing about the game even with all the info destiny has given us so far, there's a whole new universe we have to discover and unravel (story wise). Personally, without really any evidence I believe the war was already won by the vex, we're in a giant simulation as some sort of record of what once was, but with the efforts of the guardians we can somehow glitch the simulation and break out into reality through some doorway which I think could be the traveler. The traveler I believe is a being in the simulation that not only controls it, but also has the power to end it. Like I said though, this is all speculation from my point of view

  • I could see it, the traveler is some sort of beam of hope for us that's just programming from the vex, the ghosts are a way to rationalize immortality in a simulation where you're just re spawned to further your torment. The vex haven't even made it to earth yet they're just testing the waters to see what'll happen when they do. I've already thought of the (current) destiny universe being nothing but a programmed simulation, but have little to no evidence to back up the theory. It is interesting, and sounds like the kind of mind -blam!- that Bungie would do

  • We could already be extinct. The vex could be rewriting history as they want so were being tested to see if we have purpose in the new universe. Bungie dropped the simulation hint in the cards for a reason. Even the philosophy, one versions simulation is the others reality. Time travel opens up any conceivable possibility. No reality/timeline is set in stone and can change at any point. To me it's both clever and lazy story telling. Feed us with piss for now and tie it together later in the best way that fits
