Is there a way to beat Nexus from up top?
I just read that you can stay on top of the cliff and still beat Nexus...how?

2 RepliesYou need to be at least a level 60 Shaman with maxed WIS and DEX, Cloak of the Cursed, Spear of the Damned and an AK47 with a silencer and extended clip. Frag grenades also help with goblins and orcs that spawn behind you. Also, you should take a Rogue with maxed stealth and back stab abilities and a Druid with at least 140 WIS, snare, slow and root spells and the Club of Sisyphus. Stand behind the largest oak tree you can find, Cannabalize, have the Druid snare, root and slow. Let the Rogue sneak around behind it and crit back stab and then cast Poison Storm followed Swarm and then nuke it with Plague until it drops. If you don't have a 60 Shaman, use a M1A1 Abrahms Tank and call in an air strike using A-10's with depleted uranium rounds and have them strafe it till it drops. Beware the Ice Giants that drop out of the clouds when the ground shakes and the unicorns scatter. Good luck.

Yes. We two manned the Nightfall and three manned the Weekly easily. One person stands at the entrance to the cave entrance (where that wave of Vex show up initially) leading to the Nexus with a void shotgun. Their duty is to kill the ever spawning minotaur (about every 30 seconds) at the top, from behind. On Nightfall, my Level 32 characters need two shots with the Secret Handshake Void Level 331 shotgun to kill the minotaur. For the weekly (no void burn), it takes up to 5 shots to down it. It helps if you are communicating with the others so that if it gets away somehow or you run low on ammo, you can warn them they have a PO'd angry minotaur heading their way. The others stand at the cave entrance to the Nexus above the Cliff and shoot at Nexus with rockets and snipers - preferably Void based for Nightfall (Truth, Effreidts Spear) and then anything else on Weekly that does lots of damage (like Gjallahorn, Ice Breaker). They have to watch out for splash damage from the Nexus when it lights up the cave entrance. But other than that, it's pretty mechanical to get through if your paying attention, communicating and each doing your tasks.

Yeah just make sure everyone's up there. The lowest level person should stand to the side and let the others know when the Minotaur is coming so it can be taken out.

Icebreaker is your friend at this point. If you have a teammate or 2, it's even better. 1. Don't jump into the Nexus Pit. 2. Snipe all the Minotaurs from up top. They like to hide, so you have to watch for them. They eventually gather directly below you, so that becomes a little bit of a challenge. 3. Eventually Sekrion drops down. Now you can start shooting. You don't have to worry about its shield because you've got the angle. 4. Have one person watch your back, as yellow-bar Minotaur teleports behind you. It's got void shields and does void damage. Have them call out and focus fire on it, because it'll start charging and that opening is pretty narrow. 5. Rinse and repeat. 6. Jump down and collect candy. Watch out, though. If you're standing close to the edge, Sekrion can still hit you with splash damage. If voidburn is on, you can only take a few shots at a time before you have to retreat. It's a little time-consuming, but it's fairly safe.

Kill all the minotaurs from above with snipers, scout rifles, etc. the nexus will still spawn when everything is dead. That's how I did it last night and got a Gjallarhorn on my warlock. But when you stay up there, a Minotaur will spawn up there every few seconds to try and take you out

1 ReplyBy shooting him. At that height, shooting down at him makes his shields moot; he can't angle them up to protect himself from the rain of bullets and rockets coming down on his head. The worst part about it is the minotaur that'll spawn further back in the cave behind you periodically, but if you and your team are paying attention to your surroundings, you can kill it pretty quick and go back to shooting Sekiron.

Solo? Takes some time... Using this nightfall as the example... Praedyths 6 shots at it as you strafe across the opening from one side to another. Reload. 6 more. Turn around and Truth the Minotaur. Go pick up green candy he drops. Repeat forever. Probably need at least 1 heavy synth. 1 rocket kills the minotaur, but if it's trying to teleport it won't do damage. L

You just camp up top- and wait for that dude to spawn behind you, while taking shots at the mind. If you kill him he will return in like 30 seconds. I was thinking- maybe if you pushed that dude off the ledge- and kept him alive... You could continue to fire from that safe location up top. Bring a few heavy synth to blast at the groups and the guy who spawns behind you. Ice breaker that nexus mind until dead. Easy peaszy. But requires teamwork

Snipe the minotaurs from the top. The nexus will then come down. A major Minotaur will spawn behind you frequently, so keep an eye on your radar.

It's super easy. Just be sure to have one person watching for that minotaur. I just turned around and unloaded a void machine gun on him before he became a problem. The rest is just sniping the boss. It shouldn't take too long.

1 ReplySimple just kill all the minos with snipers then same with the nexus. A yellow Minotaur spawns every 30 seconds or so behind you up there just team kill him quickly and continue on the boss. I usually assign one person on "Minotaur duty" to just keep watch and call out the second he spawns
