Firstly, please don't post anything negative or unhelpful. Don't be THAT guy.
I gave a tip on another thread and it was pointed out that A) many people didn't know about it and B) this forum needs to be more helpful.
Here's my tip:
Put field scout on your Thunderlord and reload so you have 60 rounds in the mag. Now change its perks to be more stable. You'll still have 60 rounds but you'll have more stability. Great for more Crits and higher DPS. This works for any gun but best with Thunderlord
If you have a tip that you think that not many people know about, post it in bold for everyone to see and be enlightened.
Happy hunting Guardians.
Edit: I would like to commend all posters. Not only have I learned things that I never knew (and I've been playing since Alpha) but this post proves that the forums aren't full of douches. Many thanks.
Edit 2: There are some amazing tips on this thread. Keep scrolling down and read, I'm sure there will be something that you didn't know. Please read before you post so that tips aren't repeated over and over. Many thanks.
Edit 3: This thread has been so invaluable to so many that I will keep shamelessly bumping it for all to see. Keep adding your tips Guardians.

Shooting an enemy trip mine with red death will regen your health. Also works with your own trip mine

Or you could just not. It is more accurate the longer it's fired so it doesn't even matter..

Great thread I enjoy reading through this, ill be back later once I have thought of some tips....

Edited by Gabhlan: 4/2/2015 1:47:36 PMWhen you are facing Atheon in Vault of Glass and left behind after he teleports three members of the fireteam. You can use your motion tracker to tell which planet they have been sent to. This is very handy if you can't hear your team or they forget to say where they've gone so that you can open up the correct gate. While looking at Atheon if the green arrowhead is in the top right of your motion tracker they have gone to Venus (The right hand gate) Or While looking at Atheon if the green arrowhead is in the bottom left of your motion tracker they have gone to Mars (The left hand gate)

HOW TO: Hard Light 101 I've seen countless posts claiming that Hard Light is a trash gun. I must help bring justice to this horrible oversight. Hard Light is my preferred gun over Suros Regime. Tuned correctly, your Hard Light could be a beast as well! Here's how I've made mine a formidable PvP weapon even after the update/nerf. First, you must upgrade it to at least Volatile Light. This will ensure you have the necessary perks and net you some practice handling the gun. Secondly, I recommend the Aggressive Ballistics and Fitted Stock Options. These will Maximize the impact on each bullet, and maximize your stability. If you don't, you'll basically be shooting confetti, which is what 95% of Destiny users end up doing. Good luck. Hopefully this helps!

The mida multi tool has a secrect perk that gives +2 character agility. So if you put the agility perk on it actually gives +4 character agility The thorn's secrect perk is over penetrate. If thrall or any enemy is in a line, the thorn well hit them all. The gjallarhorn's secrect perk is early proximity rounds, the mentioned perk on the truth so if you fire at something far away and an enemy is between you and it, the round will usually explode early There are more secrect exotic perks but I forgot them all Apparently the vex takes away all types of element shields but I never tested it

If you are sword bearing and have a swordbreaker with hive disruptor unlocked, stand on the platform where you get the chalice, and shrek the swordbearer right when he comes out. Gives more time for sword because you are closer to crota when you pick it up.
-
Run out of ammo for your blackhammer sniper and have no green synths? Simply equip an ice breaker, let it max its ammo then switch to your blackhammer... tada...instant ammo.

Nice man . Some great tips on here

Tip #1 Don't bother playing
-
If your down in nigthfall and your not the party leader go to orbit then rejoin the session in progress and you'll spawn in alive :)
-
When teleported to Mars during the Atheon fight, don't jump at the top and fly down to attack the Hobgoblins. Run straight to the bottom and jump at the last second. This prevents you from getting sniped in midair and allows you to easily kill all three.

When reviving you can still fire.

nice post!

A week or two before the next DLC drops, level up the cryptarch, vanguard, and any factions to within one bounty redemption of a reward package. Then, when the DLC drops, you potentially have five of the new (more powerful) weapons on day one.
-
During the nexus strike if one person can make it past the minotours to the goblins during the digsite part, it no longer becomes a darkness zone and respawns become active for this area.
-
Punching enemies in the head in pve does more damage then punching them in the body. It's knida like a heat shot just with you fist, doesn't work for pvp tho.

Some good tips. Bookmarked to read later!

In VoG when using the relic in the future or past, if you think you are going to die to a shooting enemy run at them and slide. Sliding with the relic works wonders for dodging. Also use your super on oracles when you can + you can easily ground slam the last one in the right side.
-
When joining a raid team be sure to inspect the players so you know what your dealing with.
-
Another tip for anyone using the Sword. Hit the melee button twice, immediately followed by R2 (normally the slam button). If you do the combo right, it will turn into two slashes followed by an Uppercut slice finisher that does a little more damage than a usual slice
