Here is my take as a 'hardcore' player who has completed Crota's end HM about 15 times without doing the center strategy once: vault space is f*cking useless. People spend all their precious bitching energy on vault space when it doesn't matter at all. Sure, it's a pain in the ass having your vault full but you know what is more of a pain in the ass? Doing the same content over and over and over again for a bunch of garbage rewards.
More vault space isn't going to bring the fun back. All the dark below exotic weapons are still going to be hot trash, we'll still get Iron Banner for the millionth time even though it wasn't fun the first time and there won't be something for hardcore players to aim for since the 'hardest' challenge in this game can be completed by a handful of random LFGs and their mothers.
Fix your garbage weapons, bring trials of osiris, new PvE events, an epic version of VoG, f*cking anything for the love of god. All these terrible updates are not even trying to fix what's wrong with destiny.

I agree with you about the game needing some serious fixes and more content. I think everyone does. In my opinion, a vault space increase is absolutely the first most necessary step towards that. No one can play new content if there's nowhere to store all the new loot they find. In which case, the new content feels like a useless grind that ultimately ends up as a few hundred glimmer and some weapon parts. I say, fix the vault space, THEN add content.

You have way to much faith in bungie making rewards you would actually want to put in the 16 extra slots we're getting in the new vault. Four months and all the exotic weapons we got in the DLC are still total dogshit. They've shown they can modify stats easily, they did with fourth horseman in the last update BY MISTAKE. There is no excuse for every new exotic gun to be such utter garbage 4 month later. What we've seen of the 2 coming with house of wolves doesn't fill me with confidence either.
