The crucible design leads are changing the availability of special ammo crates within the next update.
Though we do not know the extent, I believe special ammo availability will be significantly reduced.
Have you ever said to a teammate,"Wait, I'm coming to get Heavy?" In April's update, the same may also be said for special ammo. In the event that this is the case, primary gun play will be promoted.
How will crucible be affected?
-We will see more Exotic hand cannon users and players using the red death(Due to low TTK).
-We will see less players depending on Final Round on high impact snipers.
-Player strategy will be different.
-The Universal Remote and No Land Beyond may prove more useful since they will not be restricted with this update.
-Crucible will be more competitive(more reminiscent of the Alpha/Beta experience but falling short due to the expanded weapon and ability dynamic in Vanilla Destiny.)
What are your thoughts? Will the reduction to special ammo be significant or just slightly different?
Let me know what you think in the comments below.

[Update] It looks like my prediction is correct. What's more, high damage weapons are being reduced. Could this mean exotic handcannons are being nerfed? Possibly.
-
This is also another way for Bungie to make play time even longer than before. Matches may take a minute two longer without as many one shot kills. Watching how many kills in crucible are made with certain weapons, we should expect in the (distant) future for a nerf on machine guns
-
Be alot better if they adressed the issue of people glitching heavy ammo in crucible i watched my fireteam members get killed on first blood the other ay w a rocket launcher 12 seconds into a match ...
-
Should reduce the heavy ammo on mgs. I can get 3 or 4 kills with a couple rockets but a 10-15 kill spree with (insert machine gun name here) isn't unfair?
-
The no land beyond has always been useful. It is an all around power house. It is the only gun that has a chance to stand up against that op purple ball in the tower.
-
This will not "redefine" crucible. Calm down nerds...
-
I hope this isn't the case. Everyone will just switch to invective.
-
Special weapon bounties will be harder to obtain, and instead of a variety of 7 weapon types to watch out for you only have 4. PvP's going to get more boring, that's for sure. What's next, is Bungie going to make you lose all your special ammo and have it gone forever when you die? It would certainly be in line with all their other idiotic changes.
-
I think the Crucible should probably be removed if they have to gimp everyone so much JUST to make it "fair."
-
Shottys are polluting the game but I don't think this is the solution. Everyone is going to be focused on waiting for ammo rather than playing. The residual effects will be an update down the road once again trying to "balance" things out
-
Invective.
-
Kills grant bonus ammo, directly to the magazine.
I forget what bonus this is, but I expect it to become very desired soon. I need to level Invective. My "take all the special chests to deny the enemy ammo" strategy might start working. Thank god I have Thorn and Last Word and Red Death and Suros Regime and oh wait I'll be fine.
-
They are f*cking up crucible.
-
Felwinter's lie in one slot, universal remote in the other. Blink'n on standby... No need to worry about lack of shotgun ammo.
-
I for one am happy about the cruciple update, makes special weapons more special. Best get my shotty and blink out now for one last scrub spree!
-
I hooe they don't. All these updates fix something n mess something else up
-
Time to level my Invective again and break out the CydoniaAR.
-
Invective will rise!!!
-
Edited by Kreutz: 3/29/2015 4:40:27 PMDo you know for a fact that these changes are happening?
-
I use my primaries significantly more than special weapons. Hawkmoon says hi!
-
Invective will be overused
-
Lol April fools. It's gonna be the same casual scrubfest.
-
I think it'll make a small difference, nothing major. I think the special ammo will be there whenever you need it.
-
I hope nothing changes. Nerfs buffs changes lead to new problems and more people complaining.

Edited by WINTER PROPHET: 3/29/2015 1:47:38 AMUntil Lars Bakken and Jason Jones give PVP direct dedicated server support, can't take anything they do with PVP seriously.

I don't think it'll change much in my opinion. People will still be shotgun crazy, thorn and red death will dominate the crucible. It'll just be the same thing
