Edited by DazedHighG13: 3/28/2015 12:41:13 AMI must say in my experience being a level 32 hunter with full agility, that If I Hit Crota 14 times by the second sword, 3 smashes then 4 smashes on the first sword and 3 smashes then 4 smashes on the second, HE ENRAGES EVERYTIME ON THE 14TH HIT just saying. SO when I run sword I go for 13 hits with the first 2 swords. doesn't really matter how you get 13 hits just GET 13 hits AND NO MORE, you can get 4-4, 3-2 or 3-4, 3-3. But for me its a guarantee that crota gets enraged on the 14TH HIT

This is useful to know... Anything on rockets for the shield? I'm thinking four with rockets, shoot one each, switch to auto to keep the shield moving down without breaks... More/ less rockets needed? Heavy ammo is always a hot topic for this part, so would help everyone not having to use synthesis packs every round, or having to do that glitch!!

Max agility make you swing faster?

This is excellent info! (I haven't completed CE or VOG yet) Now on a side note, do you guys know how many licks does it take to get to the tootsie role center of a tootsie pop?!
-
14 smashes WILL enrage him if a hunter is using blink strike to run the sword.
-
Geese I've never raided so don't know the stats but this looks like you did your research. well done.
-
Or you can ignore all the useless stats and just hit crota 3 times each down no matter if you're on hard or normal. ;)
-
Safety. Plan for 3 swords, especially with a new group. 1st sword, 4 slams then 3 slams. 2nd sword, 3 slams then 3 slams. 3rd sword, 3 slams -enrage- then 2 slams dead... Safety first. As a swordbearer, be a leader, they need you. Enjoy the loot
-
Yeah no he enrages at the 14th smash.

Edited by MeditatedTen95: 3/28/2015 4:06:57 PM14 hits will make crota enrage. That is the only thing I can see wrong. Edit: (my pattern) 4/3 heavy slams 3/3 heavy slams. (one more makes him enrage) 3/2. Or however many I can get.

Edited by Viper8878: 3/27/2015 6:19:48 PMHere's my vid on 2 swords 2 downs per swords hard mode. Hope it helps! https://youtu.be/rwF7i4zCD2c Combo is: Melee, melee, shoot (becomes uppercut), shoot shoot shoot. Timing is not as important. I missed a few slashes at the beginning but still downed him with a slam to spare!

All this seems legit in my testings

Edited by ArcHEnemYz: 3/27/2015 5:43:25 PMIf you're new to sword don't make it hard on yourself. No need to be a hero and go for 3 downs on 1 sword or 4 hits per knee. 1st sword - 3/3 2nd - 3/3 3rd - 3, he engages, kill It doesnt have to be any harder. Get this method down first then go for more hits/downs as you get more confident. Edit-these are all heavy slams.
-
I do all smashes 1st - 4-4 2nd - 3-2 3rd - 3-2 If I am not able to get 4 hits on either/both parts of the first sword, then I go with 3 hits in place if the 2.
-
Every time I play sword I do 3/4 then 3/3 anymore he enrages idk y maybe it's different
-
This is the exact post that I used to figure out what stray I wanted to use. I can't really confirm the enrage you're asking about since I just use combos. He enrages halfway through the 2nd down of the second sword for me.

Edited by iTricky v3: 3/27/2015 6:50:17 PMI run crota hard in 2 swords on my hunter with 2 downs. 8 smash and a super 1 sword gets him below 50%, then on the 2nd sword you do the same thing 8 smashes and 1 super but really only need 4 smashes. Hard Mode lv 32 Bladedancer 2 swords/2downs. Usually jump up right side, few players on the fireteam placing orbs.
-
Do these numbers assume a level 32 player? Is it different for lower level?
-
This is good stuff. My Raid group has done it on hard multiple times, but we still have consistency issues. Mostly because the sword bearer just decides to not cooperate. Do you guys feel it is worth learning how to do it in 2 swords? Skipping the 3 sword bearer and ogres sounds great. For those that have switched to the 2 sword method, is it worth switching? Or is the learning curve REALLY painful?
-
Who wants to do crota on hard I've checkpoint. I'm looking for people who are lvl 32 and a gjallahorn would be nice. I can carry the sword but if there's somebody who can carry the sword very good will be great.
-
It's by damage done to him. If his health is at the comma or below (when looking at his name) after the first sword, then be careful with the next one because you can get him to enrage when you're not ready. If his health is above half by the end of first sword, you may need to try harder on the second one.
-
I don't understand why people are arguing over 14 sword enrage or 15 sword enrage...just look at his health. How can you possibly know that all your swords landed perfectly? How do you know that lag didn't somehow make you miss a sword? Just look at his health and act accordingly. If you're not trying to 2 sword, then just get 12-13 hits then finish him = easy. If you're trying to 2 sword, then you try and get as many hit on him as you can lmao.

Heres my strat for me being swordbearer. (Titan) 1 Sword 4 Hits 4 Hits 3 Hits + Super ------------ 2 Sword: 4 Hits Finish him off. Thats if I get a perfect run. Which is normal.
