Hawkmoon actually requires accuracy. It takes more than two body shots and waiting for the poison to kill the other guy as you run away.

Have you ever used Thorn? Both are 2 shots to the head. Thorn takes about 4 body shots + poison. Hawk moon can do 4 body with a chance of luck procing

Yes I have, though I choose to not use it in crucible because I see it as unfair to others. Not saying I haven't tried it out though. I was exaggerating to prove a point.

When talking about weapon balance you should refrain from exaggerating. That's why thorn op threads are started. It takes the same amount skill to will with thorn as hawk moon. People are so upset about post mortem kills that they don't realize DoT does 30 damage. 2 head, 1 head 2 body, 4 body

Thing is, I'm not killed by the original shot or two or however many bloody bullets hit me. If I was shot by Hawkmoon, last word, or whatever else you feel like referencing, you either die right there, or kill the guy first. That's how a gun fight should work. Often times, even if you are a badass, you'll still die just because of the insane amount of poison damage that gun deals. It is incredibly frustrating to know you gunned the other guy down first, albeit you are better than him or you just got luck, but he gets the postmortem kill because of elemental damage. My biggest issue with that is the fact that Bungie felt the need to make just one particular gun like this. IF you are going to bring elemental effect damage/chances into a game (which Borderlands was very nicely known for) then you should have a balance. Make other guns that also do damages like this. Not just one. People would then have no reason to hate on just Thorn. For what it is now, Thorn gets it all. That, however, was not the point of my post. I will bring it all the way back to the fact that I was commenting on the ACCURACY of the gun. End monologue.
