I'm getting tired of playing as a warlock on all three of my characters and was wondering if it was worth it to delete two of them to make a titan and a hunter. I run three warlocks in order to maximize my chances of getting full raid gear, and I am trying to decide if adding some gameplay variety is more valuable. Any thoughts?
EDIT: So it looks like a resounding yes for killing off my warlock clones! I'm going to make a hunter and titan once I get the crux to drop for me, and because of all of you I'm pretty excited for the change in pace. Moving forward, what exotics and stat builds should I be looking for on my new hunter and titan?
EDIT 2: I'm level 30 now with my hunter and will start a titan once i hit 32. I'm loving the different supers and playstyle, no regrets about making the switch. Thanks again y'all!

I tried a warlock build. Got it up to level 25 but i just couldn't get into game play as a warlock. Deleted the character and made a second titan. Aside from being more comfortable with the game play, it allowed me to grind gear and such for one class under two different factions. (New Monarchy and Dead Orbit). Total i have two titans and one hunter. It's a little jarring to keep in mind various subclasses and how i need to play the character i've selected when i swap. Now when an engram gives me warlockk gear, i don't feel bad breaking it down for ascendant materials.

Three is a tad excessive imo lol, but I understand where you are coming from. I personally have all three 31-32 because I like logging into Destiny and saying "Hmm, I feel like playing like this today", and having a fully geared character to run with
-
I think it is just for the variety of play mechanics.

2 Locks and 1 Hunter, I'll be deleting my chick lock when vault increases and making a Titan. "I have all legendary gear and every Exotic for a Titan." My question is should I make a Chick or a Dude..hmmmmm

Edited by boostedseo: 3/24/2015 5:26:58 PMI started with one of each and I enjoy them all. Started with a hunter so I'm not too keen on the Titans movement speed. With crota dropping armor quite generously is not too challenging to get 3 different 32s.

Yes Yes Yes
-
Kinda of a waste to have all the same to me. I enjoy paying as each to varying degres
-
I needed the variety. If I had made 3 of the same, I would have quit this game a few moths ago.

I was in the same boat. Had 3 Titans. Have since deleted a Titan and made a Hunter. Love playing as a Hunter now. Not too keen on the Warlock just now but who knows. I do have a few bits of Warlock gear just incase.
-
I'm debating this as well. I have 2 warlocks and a hunter. I'd like to make a titan - I had a low level one ages ago but my Son wanted his own warlock... Only thing holding me back from making a titan is the lack of vault space. If that gets addressed in HoW I will be making a new character straight away.
-
yes for the fact that you have to play differently with each class. I started with the hunter and then made a titan just to see how the titan was. now i use the titan the most and i created a warlock because i kept getting exotics and legendaries for that class. i don't like the warlock that much but it does change the experience. but like what some one else posted do one at a time.
-
Yes, absolutely. I have one of each, and I love it. It adds a bit of variety, and you won't have to worry about getting drops you can't use.
-
No. I have two titans which I like most and a lock now cause it wasn't too painful for me. F the Hunter though.
-
A resounding yes. However I caution you to not delete your two characters at once so that you don't lose the ability to raid with at a minimum of two characters per week. I would work on one then the other that way you don't worry about running out of materials.
-
I would say keep 2 warlocks, and either decide between Titan and hunter:) that's how I would roll
-
-
Worth it! Because any engram or drop from night fall you can use the gear. Plus I like using all the classes. But be sure to make one of each race so you get the grimore
-
Each character has its own perks. I like being able to be all of the characters. It keeps it fun and interesting
-
If I were you, I'd hold off until after HoW drops. There will be all-new armor. In order to level up all 3 characters, it'll take longer. If you have 3 of the same, then it goes much faster. In both the original game and TDB, the first person to the max level (lvl 30 then 32) ran 3 of the same.
-
I have 3 different characters, I like the diversity. That's all I have to say
-
I don't like Titans so I made a second Hunter.
-
Well if you're like me you'll try it and then end up not playing two of them as much and then delete them and stick with 3 of the same class. You should try it just to get the experience with the classes and if you don't like it then just make 3 of each class
-
Yes, started as a hunter. Now I'm starting to average across all classes.
-
Collect good gear fir titan and hunter put it in the vault and when you have a full outfit delete one character and level up what ever class you want to try out. Do not try to level two characters at once its a long and boring process get used to that character and then you can make a new one
-
Id say yes, its pretty fun because each class play different and forces you to use different tactics for nightfall and raids (ie. You can play more aggressively with a titan or warlock and if you try that with a hunter, while its possible you definitely feel the increase in damage input) also you can complement different teams (ie. When they need a hunter swordbearer or a defender titan for crota)
