I was so happy this week, on my second character to kill Crota on hard I received the crux of Crota. I have received two husks of the pit and had one upgraded close to the point of being ready to upgrade to the Nechrochasm. I finished the upgrade process and went out on a set of bounties to try it out. My first impressions were pretty anti climactic. The gun hadn't changed much from the legendary state. It seemed to rip through the low level guys well though. I was happy and proud to have gained what should be the best gun in the game. It certainly is one of the hardest to obtain and require not only grinding for the first piece but several Crota kills on the hard mode Raid. Then I tried to kill a high lvl knight... It should be better than the legendary weapons that drop in the rest of the hard mode raid. But it's not.... It's not even better than the vex mythocast or vision of confluence from the prior raid. My fang of ir yut puts it to shame. So does oversoul edict and it wasn't even upgraded. This isn't a new issue either, it has been known to be too weak since the dark below dropped. Why haven't you buffed it then? You can keep it nerfed for PvP if that is what you are worried about. But seriously, give the PVE something to work towards. I tried using it in VoG hard, and it was pathetic. It works great at mowing through the weakest opponents but come across anything mildly difficult and I swear 3 clips are needed. I end up just giving up and punching because it is more effective.
