Is there a better glimmer farm?
Ok this has been my first time competing in iron banner and I'm wanting to buy 3 of each shader and emblem which is going to cost a lot, so my question is, is there a better glimmer farm other than exclusion zone?

4 RepliesAtheons throne room. I rate steppes over exclusion or Mars patrol. Drop both ether and black wax. Reasons: silk codex/ black wax/ engram drops, 200 glim per20 secs, no suicides, no down time. Clean up eris bounties at the same time. A winner.

Edited by Cipher 064: 3/23/2015 12:47:21 AMI have a few options... -If Nightfall Will of Crota is on, just activate Ether Seeds and Black Wax Idols and farm away. -If you have a Vault of Glass Gatekeeper checkpoint, pop an Axiomatic Bead and fire at all the Majors. (just be careful of the Hobgoblins) -Patrol Venus, go to Citadel, activate Axiomatic Beads and slay all the Vex. (at least three majors spawn there, although they are kind of spaced out) -Patrol Cosmodrome, stay in The Steppes, activate Ether Seeds and Black Wax Idols and massacre the Fallen and Hive. (especially the Hive) -When you're doing Daily Heroic Missions, activate whatever glimmer farming consumable and play the mission normally. (if you do Daily Heroics at all) -Play the first moon mission on hard, get to the part where Dinklebot says "We've woken the Hive!" and shoot away with Black Wax Idols active, just don't approach the temple during the fight. (It also helps if you do not kill the Hallowed Knight)

I believe that 2 void walkers with obsidian mind at exclusion zone is by far the fastest glimmer farm in the game at around 900 glimmer per minute as long as you rocket yourself to death and don't wait for cabal to kill you.

Definitely the gatekeeper checkpoint, so much more efficient. You get 16 yellow enemy kills every run and its takes about 40 if you do it right with shotguns

I take the road less traveled, I'm sure there are better ways but I didn't see it mentioned so I'll throw my two cents in, grab some gear, head to the cosmodrome patrol and go to the area where the hive and fallen fight each other and the warsat public event spawns (the place where omnigul drops you into the open world before fighting the boss) pop ether seeds and black wax and just run in a circle murdering them endlessly, there's a hive major that spawns under the fallen area for free money, as well as the public event which spawns a bunch of majors for both sides. There's also the event that goes on there where the fallen and have break out in war and endless majors spawn for a good few minutes, never made money faster, and there's no downtime for wipes.

Exclusion zone is great. I used to farm there but was doing it wrong lol. I used to kill every cabal except one and then wipe. Now I just run straight out to the second ship. As soon as the yellow bared cabals drop i nova bomb or gjallahorn them and wipe. I get like 430 in 15 seconds.

20 RepliesEdited by Guardian, Archon Of Light: 3/21/2015 11:38:10 AMBlack wax idol The first hallway on siege of the war mind ,heroic modifier level 30 The first wave of thrall has about 3 yellows, and after that it's wall to wall thrall with some alka seltzers thrown in, kill untill the thrall waves stop coming, and all that's left is the hallowed knight at the top of the stairs, don't kill him, just jump over the rail and you have a fresh batch of thrall, repeat as needed.

If you can manage to get gatekeeper cp in vog that's by far the best.

The archive mission or the start of the nexus strike is good. There's s small out door area where the fallen and vex are in constant battle. I don't think there are any majors unless the "enemy moved against each other". But they never stop spawning, This is also a good area to do quite a few bounties.

Hard VOG gatekeepers. 1000+ glimmer every wipe.

Or do the omnigul strike with 2 friends and use black wax idol and ether seeds and kill all the enemies in the first part. Wipe repeat. You get the most out of that forsure

6 RepliesEdited by KitsuneSonow: 3/22/2015 3:07:26 AMBest one I have found: Go to the first mission on the moon on Heroic Waken the Hive Kill everything EXCEPT the Knight while having Black wax Idol on Die Repeats steps 3 and 4 You get about 300 glimmer per death and it takes about 10 seconds to clear. That is 1800 glimmer a minute so within 20 minutes you will have max AND have some of the consumables that can be sold to the cryptarch.

Do weekly heroic with level 30 modifier and use the glimmer boost. I usually get 3,000-4,500 glimmer depending on the strike.

4 Replies[b]LONG READ BUT ITS A MUST READ[/b] Mars patrol. Go straight and clear out the area with all the cabal and vex. Then hop on the tipy top of the tree in front of the cave where the vex spawn(its also next to a rock). Next activate glimmer consumables for vex and cabal. Put on a sniper(preferably icebreaker). Then shoot the cabal behind and the vex that spawn. P.S. Works great with voidwalker!

To be honest the Nightfall right now isn't half bad...Black Wax and Ether Seeds and that first room and second stage produce a really high glimmer output...I think Nightfalls are over looked as farming sites...but they shouldn't be.

no, there is not if you are only looking for glimmer. there are better areas if you want to do bounties at the same time or farm engrams
