Yeah it's coming out on ps4 too, confirmed by frontier chief David Braben. The game looks boring though.

That's fine we have no man's sky.
-
It looks like a better version of NMS
-
Have you actually watched gameplay? You can't even get out of your ship, explore planets.
-
-
I watched this gameplay, it looks boring and nothing like no mans sky. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QWqzRYU0gU

It is the same concept. Fly around. Collect/buy stuff. Sell it. Progress. Upgrade.

Edited by Retro_Spective: 3/6/2015 3:20:29 AMYou can't get out of your ship, explore infinite planets with unique wildlife, environments. Big difference.
-
They wont be unique. They will start looking an awful lot alike after the first 5 hours
-
Every planet is procedurally generated. They're all unique, different for every person. The planets are randomly developed in real time. Wildlife is completely randomized too. Every persons experience will be different in No Mans Sky and that is why the game has got so much hype.
-
Destiny got loads of hype over its majestic story too remember? Dont get sucked in until you've actually seen the retail version in action. With ED you know what you are getting, with all manner of things (supposedly) to be added. NMS is still an unknown quantity. Not saying you are wrong, more warning you against being swayed by hype. I cant see every planet being unique; there'll be a lot of re-used skins, models etc. Thats my tempered expectation there.
-
See you say that but I dont think you know what procedurally generated means. There will be patterns. You will notice them. It will get bland real quick.
-
18 quintillion possible planets will get bland? get the boat.
-
There wont be 18 quintillion unique planets. The trends will show.
-
You will see.
-
I will see the patterns. Ur right
-
You might as well say it's infinite. ED takes things to. Science. In No Mans Sky, going planet to planet will take seconds. I shit you not. I went from a planet to another in ED and it took 10 minutes. In that 10 minutes I saw a sun in the distance. Nothing else. Since things are far away in space, it's realistic though. That's why I'm trying to warn people. They're getting themselves into something they want like. ED is a simulator. All the way down to controls. They're setting themselves up for disappointment. Btw, all features you mentioned missing from ED will be added, eventually.

I dont know how i could possibly be dissapointed, this game is what ive been craving to get lost in
-
Good luck.
