I never understood why you get nothing in the raid except for once a week. Why shouldnt you get XP? At least that way those who have already done it can at least be working towards something whilst they help out others who need a team to complete.

Because you'd be able to farm the bejesus out of it.

How? Its just be like anything else then? You can farm ROC strikes all day long for loot and XP. Extra raid runs should offer XP but nothing else.

Gatekeeper offers the very best glimmer farming in the whole of the game. There's majors all over the place, they drop like flies, and you can immediately reset by dropping off the edge. In addition, the bridge, the abyss and the gatekeeper spawn enemies forever, and there are even more stages with enemies that can be refreshed just by wiping: the confluxes, Atheon, the corridor, the deathsinger, Crota. If these infinite mook spawners offered XP, it would break the game.
