Why was Mythoclast originally nerfed? The pvp players were crying about it. Why? Because they were closed minded and never raided.

Edited by Lance: 3/4/2015 10:05:08 PMI've raided, and raided, and raided. I don't have a Vex Mythoclast and I don't play PVP much at all, but the original Vex Mythoclast was OP as -blam!-.
-
Just finally got the Vex,actually 2 but they are completely useless.NLB is a better primary then the Vex now.
-
It was suppose to be. Whats the point of getting such a rare gun if its not better than the rest?
It was suppose to be.
See, this is what everybody gets caught up on. It is not supposed to be that powerful. It was so powerful that it completely broke competitive multiplayer in Destiny. There's a quote on this from a Hot Fix update that DeeJ wrote. Crucible is meant to be a balanced competitive multiplayer that everyone can pick up and enjoy and do decent enough in, even if they don't have time to raid or get a Vex Mythoclast. I know it's hard to make the transition between PvE where it's perfectly acceptable for one gun to be clearly and undeniably better than another, but it's a distinction that needs to be made between PvP and PvE so that everyone can have a good time, even the guys on the receiving end of the Mythoclast.

Edited by cody230001: 3/5/2015 5:43:28 PMi agree. the same mistake happened with defiance. where they nerfed everything to cater the the pvp players just like bungies doing now tho defiance was worse. but ruined defiance to the point where there was no point in farming for good weapons, because moment you got it you did not know when it would become useless, and i can see by the way bungies treating buffs and nerfs that destiny will go the same way as defiance if they keep it up.

Balance the weapons for PvP only, leave them alone for PvE.It's really simple, they do it with light levels(for damage balance) so they can certainly do it for weapons. Some of the best weapons in the game are now useless in PvE due to PvP whiners.
-
I play both and i get that it should be balanced. They should not have to change the overall weapon mechanics for the whole game. Im sure they could do it just for crucible. Guns worked just fine in pve.
-
They really don't change weapon mechanics at all, just damage values. When they NERFed the Mythoclast, they also recognized that by doing that, it had too much of an effect on it's effectiveness in PvE.

It was not that bad but then again i use a sniper a lot so that was a big advantage. Im just sad about the damage decrease in ARs. It takes a lot longer to kill enemies with the abyss defiant. Not to much but it is noticeable.
