Thanks to such amazing weapons like NLB, Universal Remote, Hard Light, the 4th Horseman, and Dragon's Breath I no longer look forward to any exotic drops- as these seem to always find their way to my loot table. Let's face it- if you put in the time, you are all but guaranteed to get every exotic (whether by Xur or RNG) and/or raid weapon in the game. Yet each copy has the exact same perks as the next so they are really not 'unique', considering just about everyone in the game has them.
However, when it comes to legendary weapon drops I can probably count on one hand the number of weapons that dropped with a full set of amazing perks since day 1! All others pretty much get turned to energy immediately. The drop rate (for me at least) of an amazing legendary weapon is so rare that I actually get way more excitement from the drop compared to an exotic/raid weapon drop. Anyone else feel the same???
BTW- when I refer to 'amazing perks' I mean a FULL set of perks (from all tiers) that are desirable to you (not '2 out of 3', or just a desired type of elemental damage). Ex. my dream LMG roll is Persistence, Field Scout, and Crowd Control. Add Chain of Woe and Gunslinger's Trance from my Hunter and the weapon would be an absolute beast!
EDIT: Let's hear some of your dream perk rolls!
EDIT 2: ok after getting owned by TLW in crucible I have removed it from the list. And after having a blast with the MIDA and Radiant Dance Machines with my Hunter it too is no longer on the list.
EDIT 3: Thanks to TRU3Winner- I totally forgot about the 4th Horseman. I've dismantled 5 of them! ADDED to the list! lol.

IMO the best legendary setup for PVE would be for me: Red Hand IX hand cannon: outlaw, perfect balance, rangefinder. LDR5001 sniper, void: outlaw, field scout, firefly. One way ticket000 rocket launcher, arc: tracking, javelin, surplus ------------------------------------------------------ Armor new monarchy helmet:fastball, increase melee speed(throwing knife) New monarchy gauntlets: special weapon loader, hand cannon loader. New monarchy chest peice: hand cannon ammo., sniper ammo New monarchy boots: more heavy ammo, hand cannon ammo ------------------------------------------------------ Class setup: Gunslinger, Hunter Grenade: trip mine grenade Super ability: combustion Knife ability: juggler Full armor setup thing Class perk 1: Gunslinger's trance Class perk 2: chain of woe ------------------------------------------------------ We'll thanks for reading! If you use universal remote with a sniper, it can wreck. Look at Holtzmann on PlanetDestiny. My friend also got a 39 kill game with NLB (and 1 death)

Edited by ISHALLNOTBEBEAT: 4/7/2015 11:43:10 AMLook at my hunters weapons. Also hard light isn't that bad in PVP. That's my opinion.

It's funny cause it's true.. It's an unbelievable pain getting legendaries let alone good legendaries. Once in a while I'll get an exotic out of a legendary engram and I'll be utterly disappointed because I wanted a legendary... I don't know about perks but I'd be happy to find a legendary auto rifle- I've never found one and I have 6/700 hours of play time.. Sure I've bought a few legendary auto rifles but it's not the same.

Yes I do. And I have some. I don't even use exotics unless the situation calls for it. And I will say that bungie did a great thing with the legendaries on DLC1. There are even hidden gems masked as greens and blues that do insane crit damage in the crucible.

Want: Deviant Gravity-A with Rodeo / FS / crowd control. Grinding all characters on Dead Orbit, still won't drop....
-
Universal Remote + The Chosen = 36 kills, 9 deaths, 7185 score. I don't see why it is considered bad? Just because a gun takes some actual skill to use, (I know! A shotgun that actually is a challenge!) doesn't mean it's a bad weapon.

I'm looking for a prudence or longbow with good perks... I NEED A SNIPR GOSH DARN
-
I agree. I prefer legendaries like Timur's lash over thorn and hawkmoon. I prefer gheleon's demise over the Mida basic tool. Even Efrideet's spear over icebreaker. Only exotics I really enjoy using these days are Ghorn and bad juju.
-
I agree. I love a good legendary. My Another Nitc has amazing rolls and I love it over any exotic. (It's on my hunter, take a looksie)

Edited by SegmentedMoss: 3/4/2015 7:23:29 PMDefinitely agree. If you can get legendaries to drop with the correct perks, they're often better than most exotics. It's part of the reason I like Iron Banner weapons so much. I honestly consider these better than nearly every other exotic I could use instead of them: -TImur's Lash- Zen moment Field Scout/AP Rounds/Snapshot Crowd Control -Jolder's Hammer- Solar Aggressive Ballistics/Smart Drift Control Persistence Field Scout/Perfect balance/Skip Rounds Crowd Control -Efrideet's Spear- 1 Arc, 1 Void Both with Ambush scope Rodeo/Unflinching Both with Field Scout Both with Final Round

I'm pretty good with my NLB so I don't mind it and check out The Conduit pulse rifle on my hunter. It's my favorite and destroys in the crucible.
-
no, actually exotics are the true exotics of the game, the yellow ones are exotics and the purple ones are legendary noob
-
I rolled a pretty good "The Crash" the other day. Return to sender + Rangefinder :)
-
Mida is amazing, NLB is amazing if and only if it's used correctly, TLW sucks, UR is only good enough for the exotic shard it turns into, HL is good, and DB is good for certain occasions.
-
I just got my dream LMG: focused fire. It's a Xeres, a green weapon with only one perk. And it will own in PVP. Legendaries are mainly what I look forward to in nightfalls. Still searching/praying for a sniper with final round, armor piercing rounds and any perk to improve stability.
-
Dream PerK!!! Shadow Price explosive rounds and the super good advice perK hell let's throw in firefLy!!!!
-
Try no land beyond its a beast. Also hardlight was good before nerf
-
I have a Judgment VI that beats Felwinter's Lie
-
VoC: full auto, zen moment, perfect balance/field scout. Amazing perks for a scout rifle.
-
I know it is a rare but Stalker BNGL. Amazing design wasted on a rare.

You speak the truth. That is exactly why I am against using exotics in more than one slot. Exotics are supposed to be the power houses that will give you an effect that you can foresee, a weapon that will always do what it is supposed to. You see a guy with an Ice Breaker, you know whats gonna happen. But we are not meant to primarily use exotics. We need those great legendaries, we need the perks that make us come back to that weapon over and over again. My favorite legendaries (that I actually own) are: BADGER CCL: RED DOT-ORES, RODEO, SINGLE POINT SLING(Or explosive rounds), FIREFLY PAYBACK SOS: RED DOT-OAS, COUNTERBALANCE, SNAPSHOT, RANGEFINDER Unfortunately that is all. I have not found a good hand cannon yet :(
