Unfortunately, this tends to come across as "scolding women for not understanding that men are mere men and don't think like women do." It makes a lot of generalizations of the mental and emotional tendencies/responses of both sexes (though I would hope that those statements are paraphrased conclusions of serious and proper studies in order for him to state them in the way that he has). In the end, almost unnoticed, he slips in what I think is the most important statement/recommendation. [quote]If you don't believe me? Ask him. You will be glad that you did. And so will he.[/quote] The ONLY way for an individual or the members of a couple to better understand what is going on in the head of their partner (and things going on in their own head that they may not be aware of) is to simply (and honestly) ask, listen, and TALK to each other. Not challenge, not confront, not argue, but accept there is something that you don't know, something that you want to better understand and so, you are asking an honest question and are looking for an honest answer. Hopefully, a question that leads to a dialog. Unfortunately, it was 5 minutes of scolding/excusing to get to the really valuable information.
