Can players be "locked" into a specific loot table?
Since I started running HM VoG a few dozen times, I've only seen 1 or 2 weapons drop, which is fine. What's strange is that I get the exact same thing every single run with only 2 exceptions.

Players can say RNG all you like, but when 95% of your runs yield the exact same things over and over again, you gotta wonder if the game tends to lock players into a single set of items, and eschews the rest.
Does anyone else experience this?

I agree! Seems to me that my Titan tends to get luckier then my Hunter and Warlock at times. But my nightfall rewards have been terrible the last few weeks. So I am left shaking my head most of time. Or like two weekends ago i had purple engrams dropping all over only to have the cryptarch hand me mostly shards lmao!

I got locked to universal remote table last week, got 6 universal remotes in single week, thats ridiculous.

Hmm, maybe. I wouldn't be surprised. I've gotten 4 Hawkmoons, a couple Icebreakers and TLWs, 2 Monte Carlo's, even a Vex on my first VoG hard completion, and still no Hard Light after nearly six months.

Try making a new character, my hunter (main) took 7/8 tries to get vex, my warlock got 5 legendary engrams in one day... And vex on his first raid, he's not even lvl 30 yet :P got HoPF from one of those engrams and apotheosis veil from another, he's a really lucky guy. My hunter is 32 and still hasn't even gotten legs or helm from the raid (using IB legs)

Idk I mean I did have all exotic weapons and exotic armor for my titan drop so I doubt that your theory is correct

Took me 13 weeks to get boots on my warlock and titan in VoG, they had never dropped before and both dropped during same week. My hunter is similar but worse. 16 weeks now and i still haven't received the chest or boots armor, the last item that dropped for me was the gauntlets back in October and nothing since. Shards/energy you say? ppffff! i see them drop 80 to 90% if the time. i can open a graveyard for the amounts of ships and sparrows i ditch! The one and only thing i want now is the Praetorian Foil, and i'm done with VoG i think.

2 RepliesGo roll a dice. You will notice sometimes the same number will keep showing up. Does that mean the dice put you a specific number table. NO! Come on people got over it. This happens when things are random.

Maybe, I also get the raid helmet, most of my atheon kills result in 2 helmet, I think at one point that happened about 10 times in a row

Certain areas only drop certain loot so it may seem like that but really your just getting unlucky

3 RepliesDesire sensor. Sorry it's all in your head, in a few years all the conspiracy shut will fade away and people might actually start logging drip rates etc instead of pointless data mining and useless 'methods' of getting stuff (like wearing glowhoo to get a crux etc)

1 ReplyI can't speak for what bungie is doing obviously. But I do know for a fact that similar systems do exists. The system probably wouldn't be so cut and dry like that though. Here is an example of how one of these systems work. When launching the game for the first time they could be placing you into a group (let's say groups 1-5) now what designers could do is decide what rarity each weapon / armor drop in that group. (For example I'm in group 1, that means I have 100% chance of getting shards 80% chance of getting vex 50% chance of getting Truth 50% chance of getting fatebringer .01% chance of getting Ghorn Etc....) And they could have these percentages mixed however they want for every group. Now with that said this is a lot of work to setup and maintain and constantly tweet and improve. I don't think a game like destiny that has so many drops would do this simply because of the work involved. It would be a easier and more efficient for the company to just have an RNG system. But that doesn't mean cant do this. Truth is we'll never know

I feel that somehow each person has things weighted differently but I don't think you are completely locked from things. I still haven't gotten Praetorian Foil......

I believe so. I've got every exotic now except the Gjallarhorn but I've received 6 Last Words, 7 NLBs, and 6 Dragons Breaths. I've also received Plan Ca half dozen times

I'd say so. I've gotten 8 Regimes, 3 Red Deaths, 3 Plan C's, 4 Last Words, and 3 Ice Breakers. And I just want the glorious Thunderlord...

Yes...for at least two solid months of running Vog hd I would always end up with Kabrs battle cage, sparrow and shards...then finally I got the vex and never had the same issue again...in fact I've picked up 3 vex in the last 3 weeks...keep grinding mate, you'll get your rewards...eventually. PS. Only ever time I received an exotic from the infamous exotic chest was my 1st run ever (Monte Carlo) since then only shards/energy ever falls for me.

I felt this way for a long time. Until last week happened... Finally got hawkmoon, gjallarhorn, HoPF, and 4th Horseman (not one I'll use, but I'm a collector).

Ive felt similar. The rng table is a steaming pile of fecal matter.

All I get is Universal Remote & NLB. I think it's due to the fact I use these weapons the least, soo maybe I'm supposed to use them more or something idk.
