Can players be "locked" into a specific loot table?
Since I started running HM VoG a few dozen times, I've only seen 1 or 2 weapons drop, which is fine. What's strange is that I get the exact same thing every single run with only 2 exceptions.

Players can say RNG all you like, but when 95% of your runs yield the exact same things over and over again, you gotta wonder if the game tends to lock players into a single set of items, and eschews the rest.
Does anyone else experience this?

I've noticed this as well. I've gotten Truth 3 weeks in a row from doing NFs on my 3 characters (already had 2 from before). Also, I've gotten No Land Beyond at least twice from the Deathsinger, the Oversoul more often than not, and the Fang every time but twice when beating Crota. Still no Abyss Defiant tho. It's the 1 raid weapon I'm missing (and the one I want the most, of course), even have everything from the VoG. I've heard several other ppl saying the same thing but with different weapons or armor. There's definitely something to this, just not sure exactly what.

One of my friends got the Truth exotic rocket launcher 6 times straight whenever we were doing an activity that had the chance to drop an exotic. You may have a point. Also, I've gotten like 6 Mythoclasts, which further adds to your theory.

Got my fourth Vex last night on hard VoG - out of about 20 completions.

Got the vex first time i ran vog hm, 30+ times later haven't gotten another one. I have only gotten the sniper once, vengeance once, timepiece once, VOC once, but Fatebringer i have gotten 3 times. It is random

These are 2 of the most common drops, they have a higher base chance. Its possible, but if you kept getting like 6 red deaths and 6 visions of conf thatd be much more obvious Idk good luck

3 RepliesI was actually thinking this the other day. Last week did CEHM twice and got a crux & WoC, followed by WoC and shards. Then in my ROCs, ive only gotten plan c, the last word, monte carlo, ice breaker, & mida. All multiple times. It seems like i alway get the same stuff. Hell ive got 2x Crux now with no husk of pit. Whatever

Some people don't completely understand rng. Rng is not 100% random. There is a defined path a set of numbers will take based on certain conditions being met (the condition being where the number started.. Like if a person travels from a to b to c and another jumps in at b and travels to c, completely skipping a... The person still traveled the path but started at a different "number" than everyone else.. He would eventually match up with everyone) sorry for the bad example but it made sense in my head. You can grab a calculator or number generator right now and start randomly generating numbers. If you knew the last 5 inputs before you started, however, you could figure out which where you are in the number table and subsequently could begin predicting your numbers with 100% accuracy. There's a set path the numbers take but different people jump in at different times. That's why it's basically random

I have gottonw multiples of every exotic, but I have never gotten Red Death or Gjallahorn. I've seen it drop many times, Nightfall repeatedly shafts me with shards or repeat icebreakers( up to 11 now). I definitely think that they assess what's in your vault and on your characters and then make your drops based in that.

3 RepliesIve gotten 4 vex, 7 timebreakers, countless atheons epilogue but no chatterwhite! I have 3 swordbreaker, 3 light of the abyss but no hunger of crota. So do believe that we all have our own loot table? No or atleast i hope not coz i still want a suros!

I think what happens based on deej previous comments that when you raid the game will assess what you have. I think what might be happening is that the game assess what you have on your character and not in the vault. I keep getting the same two as well I will carry all my raid weapons and make a run tonight to see what happens

The game gives me pulse rifles, scout rifles, and machine guns. Someone I consistently play with always gets rocket launchers and auto rifles. Pre dlc, I had at least 7 of the zombie apocalypse while my friends had never seen one. Post dlc, I keep dismantling harms way. This would all make sense if the game were intended for trading. I don't need 7+ of any weapon.

44 RepliesI am convinced (and so is my clan) that bungie goes in, and weighs certain guns on people's profiles. Everyone has that 1 gun they can't get. And since they don't have it they will come back over, and over just to grind for it. I think that's what bungie is doing to keep people from quitting the game.

I've gotten 6 Gjallahorns and 4 Thunderlords but Hawkmoon, the last exotic I need and the one I want most, refuses to drop for me.

We do know that Bungie has to use a different seed for each Guardian who finishes an activity, else they would all receive the same rewards. So if the seed Bungie uses for the loot tables is specific to each Guardian, then it is possible that some Guardians will [i]always [/i]have bad drops. But even if RNG was truly random, some Guardians may never receive good rewards. Roll the dice millions of times and you will stretches of all ones. We have millions of Guardians proving that true right now. In summary, RNG in "Destiny" sucks.

I completely believe this. My first exotic was Gjallarhorn, got it from my 2nd ever nightfall. I was dumbfounded when I saw people have played 1000+ hours and haven't gotten it.. Got Black Hammer on my first Crota, too

Nah. Someone will experience it and some won't. That's why it's random. They'll always be people on the unlucky side and there will be those on the lucky side. It's how it goes

I think there are hidden factors tied to player behavior. Why else would it be so common for the worst guy on a nightfall or in crucible to get an exotic. Just seems like the better you do the worse your rewards are.

VoG has terrible rng. I've been lucky and gotten every armor and weapon to drop at least 3 times. But I've played VoG over 70 times.

2 RepliesI think it's based on the time you put in ie, casuals getter better drops and regulars like 2-3 hours a day players get worse drops cause basically they know they already got you
